Re: Official Coronavirus Discussion thread
The good news is that it is becoming clearer and clearer that diagnosed cases of Covid-19, represent just a fraction of the number of people infected with the virus. This is good news because it means the spread will not keep growing for as long as previously thought, and deaths will be less than th...

Australia now cancelled. Bahrain - already McLaren cannot attend, and rest of the drivers will not wish to either. Bahrain should go as per schedule. They are not even going to allow any spectator on the track :? Not sure about Vietnam. Hopefully rest of the season will not get affected. Probably they will need to have restriction on international spectators or something x( I doubt Bahrain will go ahead. It qui...

Looking at the races and impact of Covid 19. Once there is local transmission of Covid-19, so far in most countries cases grow at a multiple of around 2.5x more cases each week. I will assume applying this growth rate to current local cases will calculate the maximum possible cases at a future date...

Re: Italian GP and Ferrari Corona Virus
I hate to pessimistic but this season is going to be a mess. Australia will go ahead, 3 team members are suffering from symptoms, i'd say probably unlikely to be Corona but how many team members are willing to take the risk going forwards. Most counties are seeing an exponential rise in cases, they...

How about we have Australia 1, Australia 2, Australia 3 and Australia 4? That would cover the first 4 races and they could probably cut some gaps if they don't have to pack up and move :) One could trial a reverse grid even if points were not recorded - or some other options Because F1 grand prix i...

I think we'll lose a lot of the early races. Bahrain definitely. Vietnam, I can see them going to extraordinary lengths to try and keep the race on but ultimately not being able to. And then the early part of the European calendar has got to be under threat as well, given it's two months away and t...

This has obviously raised a lot of suspicions with people, giving the timing of the technical clarification that Red Bull requested. Max Verstappen has outright accused them of cheating, but obviously whether they were or were...

I've just looked it up and being biased toward someone means you are favouring them, it also says this is often used wrongly when people actually mean biased against. Well I didn't know that. Valtteri, Lewis, Ricciardo for me. Honorable mention to Lando Norris. Edit: Max also deserves an honorable mention. yes, Norris drove well. I would love to see the protest, because IMO the Renault system is not illegal, but a novel way to improve the driver/car performance. I went over the regulations, and while such things as anti-lock are banned, this system is not actually anti-lock but just fine-tunes the braking balance dependent ...

Interesting no one has considered Perez. I don't see the issue with what Mercedes did with Hamilton. He was giving it everything when Bottas had had his 2nd stop. Despite this, Hamilton was nearly as fast as Bottas. Simply remove Hamilton, and yes, Mercedes would not be winning. But if you replace Hamilton with another driver instead of Bottas in one car and the other car without a driver, depending on who replaces Hamilton, Mercedes could still be winning.

Personally, I think Toto wants to hire Ocon. I'd actually say the opposite, that if it was purely down to his personal opinion, he'd keep Bottas. First of all I don't see Vettel retiring this year, it's interesting that Alonso is being seen as totally out of the picture. How fast is Verstappen relative to Hamilton? The Ricciardo/Hulkenberg and Ricciardo/Vettel cross comparisons basically suggest that Verstappen is around 2 tenths quicker than even Hamilton/Alonso tier [/u] I know sounds absurd, but that is what the numbers say. The reality is that even when drivers...

Ban division 1. It you take the top three teams out, or just consider them a sideshow, then formulae 1 is quite interesting. It is really difficult to compare drivers. If they have the same equipment, and the equipment is performing at its optimum, then you can make a comparison of relative performance on at a given race.
