Re: So... who replaces Lewis at Mercedes?
I think alonsos declined - do we really think prime alonso gets outqualified by ocon? Yep, Alonso, whilst still being great, has definitely declined at least a little and definitely in out right pace over one lap. I also think it's entirely plausible that Hamilton has already declined a little as w...

Re: Hamilton to Ferrari for 2025 Season
Eh, maybe. There's a big gap between having considered driving for Ferrari (as a great way to end a career by completing a trifecta of successful teams) and having a childhood dream of being a Ferrari driver. But I think when you sign for Ferrari, you're required to say both that it has been a lifel...

Re: The 100 Greatest of All Time (Update)
Ok so that does clarify it a little. So to me that indicates he's not concerned with racing Verstappen head-to-head in equal machinery but that it's more to do with doing it at RB, & that it's tough to be competitive with an entrenched top-line teammate straight out of the gates. Both are perfectly...

Well Pin got her first win after on-track winner was penalised, but still a Pole and fastest Lap to go with it is pretty good. There are a few female drivers doing the Formula Winter Series as prep and it started this weekend at Jerez. Schreiner: 17/38, 29/36, 25/36 Bustamente: 35/38, 26/36, 30/36 ...

Exactly as I said Alonso will probably start to decline when he's 44, your reply was that you can see decline in Hamilton because of the mistakes he makes unlike Alonso, then we had to show the mistakes that Alonso has been making. Yes, yes, yes, more diversion tactics to demonstrate you will never...

Verstappen got beat twice by Ricciardo. One full season. But personally I think given his age and experience levels that only counts very minorly against him. They were teammates for 17 races that more often than not counted as a full season in F1, I was being as matter of fact as Button, Rosberg a...

Well I've looked show me, I only saw someone saying that at 44 we can expect Alonso to start declining. This was my original reply. Notice how Alonso is conspicuously absent. With Schumacher there were clear signs of his decline and the same may be true of Hamilton already. I take into account that...

Yeah, no. Great guy Vettel, but he was worse than several other options by the time he left F1, and there's no reason to think he'll have got any better during the time off.

The problem is that almost every GOAT contender has at least one serious bullet-hole in their legacy. Schumacher: Jerez 1997, no competitive teammate Senna: Suzuka 1990, probably a ban worthy action. Clark: lost to Moss when he had factory support Hamilton: lost to Button, Rosberg and Russell, none...

Considering that James Vowles has publicly clarified (for the express purpose of dispelling rumors about Mercedes) that Albon is contracted through 2025, I think we can assume Albon is not actually an option, whether or not Mercedes would pick him. That said, I still have a hard time seeing a case f...

Surely Alonso is too old for Merc to think about him for 2025 and beyond. Yes he's still near his best, but I'd be amazed if can stay there for much longer. Merc tend to think long term, and with Russell bedded in I think it may be whichever of the Mclaren duo Norris/Piastri does best this year who...

If Red Bull can scoop up any kind of real talent from another team, the team might try its hand at that given that Verstappen can do almost all the scoring by himself if the car is fast enough. So that would presently be Piastri. For Red Bull, the constructors is more of a bonus element anyway, nic...

Street circuits that aren't actually in the city have no upside. It's just a tunnel of catch fencing. 1,000,000% agree with this. Albon and Ricciardo for me. Albon doesn't need much explanation. His advantage over Sargeant last year was so large that it's borderline implausible to believe the situation will reverse itself. IMO, the truth lies somewhere between the two of you. I'm inclined to feel Mikey has overrated Mansell in a number of seasons, but I also can't see having him as low as 4th in 1986 and 1987 (behind Piquet, no less).
