Re: How would Nico Rosberg be doing in 2017?

A tough scenario to predict. How hungry would Rosberg have been for it? He would likely have been more competitive than Bottas but beyind that, who knows?

Re: Ferrari International Assistance

^ I think the example above was more about trying to mix the grid up than being particularly anti ferrari. Infeel that if any team had dominated like that for so long then the rules would have changed.

Re: Pascal Wehrlein

I have been a bit disappointed with Pascal. I know the Sauber is a very uncompetitive car, but he just hasn't performed like you would expect a top driver in a poor car to perform. There hasn't been a breakthrough performance. Force India choosing Ocon over Wehrlein speaks volumes. Ericcson isn't a...

Re: Driver(s) of the Day - 2017 Mexican Grand Prix

From what I saw Hamilton played bumper cars with three different cars, of which at least in one case he was the one to blame. Then he was probably the slowest driver on the grid not getting past anyone and eventually being lapped by his teammate. But definitely DoD material. He wasn't driver of the...

Re: Official Max Verstappen thread

I think it would be fair to say that he could be the best. 'Could be" is the key part of that statement. The way hype builds around drivers is incredible and often fickle. Daniel Ricciardo was being branded the best driver on the grid by many in 2014. Now in the wake of Verstappen, the honey badger...

Re: The Future of Kimi Raikkonen

Bump. Watching Kimi now just makes me a bit sad. He is kind of clinging on due to past glories such as being their most recent champion. He has had 6 podiums this season, but no wins. His last 6 seasons with Ferrari have produced 3 wins and none in this second spell. Ferrari have tended to be very ...

Re: Official Max Verstappen thread

I fully accept that Verstappen looks like an almost inevitable future champion. I would just urge a bit of caution to those saying he is already the best. He is an extraordinary natural talent, but he hasn't had to do it under real pressure yet. He has been out of the title hunt and able to just go ...

Re: DOTW Mexico - Officially Unofficial Driver Of The Weeken

As much as Verstappen gets too many official Driver of the day awards, he deserved to get it in this race. Vettel's recovery was really good but it was a clear error that made it necessary. Marcus Ericcson deserves an honourable mention. Bottas quietly did an improved job, although being beaten by t...

Brazil would be a far more fitting race for Massa to end his career. They should maybe think about putting Kvyat (if it is to be him) in the car for Abu Dhabi.

Re: Williams uninspiring driver options for 2018

I think Kvyat is about the best option Williams have on the table. I feel that he was unmotivated in his second Torro Rosso spell once the prospect of a Red Bull return evaportated on Max's RB debut. A fresh challenge will bring the best out of him. He was pretty impressive in 2015, even outpointing...

Ricciardo will need to size things up at Red Bull next season. Helmut is already looking at Max like he's a snack. He used to look at Vettel like that

Re: Danny Ric at Mclaren?????

Moving to Mclaren would be a huge mistake. Even with a Mercedes engine in 2014 they were not particularly competitive. I hope I'm wrong but I think they are done as a top team. Mercedes is the place to go for him in 2019. Hamilton likely has only a few seasons left, so in theory he'd become number 1...

Re: New Member introduction thread

Hi all, I've been watching F1 since the mid 90s. Currently looking forward to period of Vet/Ver/Ham scraps. My pet peeves include, DRS, Kimi continuing to tarnish his legacy by agreeing to sleepdrive through another season and the lack of options in terms of engine suppliers. I'm looking forward to ...
