Seems every few years the title changes Used to be Vettel a fee years ago then Grosjean, now Verstappen? Rbr made a big deal about telling him no more mistakes but Verstappen is no longer a rookie, far too many mistakes ruining races atm. Why do you feel the need to label a person in a derogatory w...

Re: 2018 Chinese Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Threa
I think merc bricked their setup or compromised for the race. They are only 2 to 3 tenths ahead of RBR and in party mode at that. Don't think Ferrari and RBR could have improved that much. Nice to see Kimi pushing Seb. Merc cannot rely on their dominance any more if they get their set up wrong as th...

year 2 on the original pu honda developed. they and mclaren should have stuck with this pu from the start What? For me there is still the 800 lb. gorilla in the room of RELIABILITY!!!! There are two races in the books this year and the Honda components have to last 6 races before they can be replaced without penalty. Honda seems to have the pace for now and there may be new teams signing up for 2019. Right n...

Why not just 3 men changing all 4 wheels? Pitstops will be longer but at least then they'll be sure that all 4 wheels are changed properly. This would kill strategy and make all races 1 stop as instead of losing 23 seconds int he pits, you would lose 35 seconds per stop. Pirelli can take care of th...

They should have just one person at each wheel. There are far too many people in the firing line that also causes confusion, and obstruction of sight. There should be a human that triggers (when he is satisfied) when the lights can do its work.

It doesn't hurt, it's still the worst PU swapped out for a better one. McLaren's own embarrassing failing on the chassis side around here doesn't change that. How have they performed well reliability wise? One failed mgu-h that destroyed Gasly's ICE and Turbo on the first weekend of the year so he'...

I agree with this and seem logical, if aero is locked then so should engine modes.
It's mind boggling that this has been overlooked for so many years.

It's a good thing they broke up. Assuming if Honda engine was equal to Renault ( which we would have no way of knowing). McLaren would still be outside the top ten with the lowest top speed and complaining they have among the best chasis but losing a second a lap on the straights to the front runner...

Didn't Macca also want to send engineers to help in Japan, but Honda said no as their face-saving mode kicked in? They hold the biggest share of the failed partnership in my opinion. Seems more like convenient truths. What a more relevant question is how many sec per lap are they quicker than end of last year vs how much quicker are other teams than what they had end of last year. Boulier said 1sec a lap based on data they plugged into their simulator that they received from Ren...

Just a little side track sorry. Most of Honda's problems do not seen to be engine per-se, but the turbo/recovery system and the harvest/store/reuse of energy. Financial penalty should be a percentage of team budget and constuctors points. That way it will hurt all teams equally. Of course their must be some development consessions, as penalties can also push new entrants out of the sport before they have a chance to develop

Renault isn't much of an improvement over Honda, sadly. They're lucky that Honda sucks so much, it takes attention away from them. Beggars can't be choosers though, so Renault it is then for McLaren. Not to take away anything away from Dan RBR do have the most competitive driver lineup.
You have to appreciate RBR for that
