Re: Driver(s) of the Day - 2020 Italian Grand Prix
Only one for me Gasly without a doubt his strategy put him place and when the opportunity appeared he grabbed it with both hands! To me Sainz was a disappointment he was in a faster car and failed to make an impression, exactly why he was dropped by Redbull at a point Stroll another disappointment ...

Re: Driver(s) of the Day - 2020 Italian Grand Prix
I think in the team mate wars this weekend, Vettel may be ahead (over the whole season) by the end of this races's votes. Seems quite amusing really, but I don't see the reasons for voting Leclerc over Vettel given Leclerc actually made a mistake then crashed. I have to say, Leclerc has got the spe...

Re: Driver(s) of the Day - 2020 Italian Grand Prix
Gasly and Sainz the obvious votes. Third vote a bit more tricky, Ricciardo did a good job and lost out to Bottas in the pits which considering Bottas’ lack of pace probably cost him P5. Also tempted to give it to Hamilton, two good starts and a cracking recovery job through the midfield. I think hi...

Re: Driver(s) of the Day - 2020 Italian Grand Prix
It's a really tricky one to judge today but I thought Sainz was strong throughout and a bit unfortunate not to win. Kvyat was looking very good in the first stint and was on course to finish well ahead of Gasly before all the safety car shenanigans, so desperately unlucky from him. Perez was simila...

Re: 2020 Italian Grand Prix Race Thread
Then why did sky say multiple times, Why did he constantly have to move over due to overheating of following another car, why did the team get a close inspection when they looked to be trying to replace parts for what surely could be some car problem? Bottas can struggle sometimes, but I don't thin...

Re: 2020 Italian Grand Prix Race Thread
I think some are over thinking the Hamilton pit issue. The safety car and pit being closed didn't happen long before he got to Parabolica. He was focused on entering the pit lane quickly for a stop , like all drivers would be, and made a mistake. Drivers behind had a little more time to radio their...

Re: 2020 Italian Grand Prix Race Thread
Well, there hasn't been confirmation what it is and I think it may have been caused by Bottas himself when he bounced the car before starting, but even when he was within half a second off Norris on the main straight with DRS, the gap seemed to extend. Something didn't seem right. The gap kept clos...

Re: 2020 Italian Grand Prix Race Thread
I don't often vote for the winner as driver of the day, but I did this time. And well in time too. Still, even though I am delighted for Pierre, it's all due to the use of the Spectacle Car. No, it's all due to a multi WDC making a bad error Which he wouldn't have made without the use of the Specta...

Unless you are listening to a different feed, I don't know how many times it has been said that Bottas had some issues with his car. They had to look at the car during the red flag.Asphalt_World wrote: ↑Sun Sep 06, 2020 2:44 pmI just can't believe that Bottas seems so unable to challenge cars. Re: 2020 Italian Grand Prix Race Thread
Bottas has a golden opportunity here. Let's be honest you'd expect Hamilton to win from here. Verstappen couldn't overtake Bottas who was managing his cooling issues and haning back from Ricciardo. The Mercedes seems worse than others behind other cars. I think Hamilton would struggle to win from 8...

Crofty is right there. Good job Herbert wasn't with the stewards :D He probably will have found a reason to punish giovinazzi but not Hamilton. Re: 2020 Italian Grand Prix Race Thread
Bottas willbe taking a massive chunk out of Hamilton after a poor race. I don't get why Hamilton didn't see these. Same with Giovinazzi. I did think that Hamilton was always really careful and very aware of the rules. At the speed he was going, he had plenty of time to see these. We can't defend hi...

Re: 2020 Italian Grand Prix Race Thread
Well they have confirmed Giovinazzi's penalty. If Hamilton doesn't get the same, that is very inconsistent. The two of the left are incredibly obvious for the drivers at that speed. If Mercedes are defending themselves about the lack of light at the pit lane, then that was the same for giovinazzi. H...

Re: 2020 Italian Grand Prix Race Thread
Well, unless there was a fault with the lights for the pit lane being closed, I can't see any excuse for no penalty here. If it was obvious, I don't get why the teams told their drivers to pit, and The drivers also should have been able to see the pitlane was closed. Yep, as i watch, both Hamilton a...

Hamilton and Bottas laps just compared and it's confirmed that Hamilton was cautious through the Parabolica knowing he was up on on time. Kvyat was rather unlucky there. He was actually on target to improve and had to back off because of Magnussen, but still made it to P11. And even his best Q2 time was faster than gasly's best in Q3. I think he may have managed to beat Gasly this time if it wasn't for the yellows in Q2.

Hamilton saying "you saw how close it was between us all"
He does speak some nonsense at times. Sains was nearly a second behind the front row. It was close between him and Bottas only.

If Bottas is getting a tow from hamilton on the 2nd run, that probably won't happen as the 2nd run probably won't happen!
