Re: 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread

Sainz's car took a ton of damage. This is what Vasseur said: "We damaged completely the monocoque, the engine, the battery. I think it’s just unacceptable." YT vid here qJlN7y5xq3c Sounds like all & sundry have been requested to push the event no matter what. I noticed Sky have been dishing it out ...

Re: 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread

We've seen drain covers get pulled up now plenty of times for it to be perfectly foreseeable. How can mistakes like this still be being made? Utterly ridiculous case of affairs if we go into quali with just one practice session on a brand new track. Or, will it be a Sunday race after all ? They're ...

Re: 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread

Read on Reddit that one user who knows someone working with one of the F1 teams has said FP2 also may get cancelled. Not official now but may become so soon. What a bummer of a start to the hyped Las Vegas Grand Prix. Also this: 1725389551059796066 Well thats day 1 literally down the drain then.

6 km of track means a lot of drain covers to check & I guess they'll need to check them all before clearing the track for FP2.

Some trivia: Which was the last F1 Grand Prix to take place on a Saturday? I can't see how this "Saturday" race will increase interest in F1 in the US, since all of its activities will occur after midnight each day (qualifying starts at nearly 3am for east coast viewers). https://www.espn.co.uk/f1/...

Wondering if there's any differentiation between the team owner principal (Tyrrell, Brabham, Dennis, Williams etc) & the team employee principal (Horner, Todt, Briatore)?

Extra credits for the team owner principal ?

The year started badly for Horner, he really doesn’t want his drivers battling for wins, this issue was soon addressed poor driving by Checo or some other reason, who knows. Checo who had good pace throughout Q1 & Q2 got real unlucky. Even the RB team waited till eternity to send him out for the final run even when rain was possible anytime. He probably was the only driver that suffered because of Piastri's spin & the yellow flag in S3. However, today is another opport...

I wouldn’t mind this ruling by the stewards if they didn’t imply you could not stop in the pitlane in the first place. Why say now it’s ok?! My guess is that the rationale is that in Singapore, Verstappen should have been penalised because there was no need for him to stop at the end of the pit lan...

Re: 2023 Mexican Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread

Verstappen has a valid point that now that there is a minimum lap time, only way to create a gap to next car is to do it by going slow on pit exit. So he may not get a penalty if they can show that he only slowed down just enough to crate a gap to the next car. This is basically moving the build up...

Things change. Older "traditional" fans die off, you have to replace them if you want to continue. When you have something ...
