Re: Official Qualy Thread- Australia
For those of us who haven't historically followed practice much, can we expect FP3 to have the teams showing their hand a lot more than today? Or will they still be fannying about until Quali? The top teams will still have their engines turned down, they won't be on full whack until Q3. But FP3 giv...

Re: Sky Sports F1 is broadcasting
Great coverage so far, will only get better. Shame about the adverts but apart from that a big step up from BBC & ITV, of course in qualifying and race is where it will take a bigger step and be miles ahead of what we seen from BBC & ITV. The adverts are not so bad as it's only practice, personally ...

Re: Sky F1, what a load of s**t!
To be clear about the "unimaginable amount of ads" Sky are "cramming in" etc. All UK broadcasters are legally obliged to show no more that 12 minutes od adverts in any 1 hour. If they do then Ofcom comes down on them like a ton of bricks. They get massive fines which out weighs the revenue made by ...

This. Makes much sense.robgowen90 wrote:It's better if people don't want to record all the pre race guff, if people just want to save the race on their sky+ box then it wont take up unnecessay space
Virgin users don't need to worry about it but you do record the whole show.

Re: Sky Sports F1 is broadcasting
I don't get anywhere near £9000 a year, life is a struggle but F1 is a passion so there is always room for watching live F1 races with proper coverage (Not illegally) There's many on much lower incomes but still managed to get Sky Sports F1. You just have to work it out and cut back on the things th...

First average WEEKLY viewing figures from BARB: 617,000 only. Average DAILY reach of 99,000 only. Not a graet start for SKY F1 channel is it? Of course as it's a pay channel so it's natural the figures will be lower than a free channel, but those figures will go allot higher when the season actuall...

I thought James Allen was pretty good until Hamilton turned up and he fell in love. In fairness to James Allen, one thing that is very rarely ever pointed out with regards to his Hamilton bias is that he was working for a commercial TV station during a time when there was more hype over a British d...

Yeah but most people don't get sky because of stupid stuff like not paying Murdoch due to tax reasons despite most companies being in tax debt and them paying money to many people like Murdoch not for genuine reasons. Though I understand those who can't get it for genuine reasons however myself with...

Re: Those without Sky etc - how will you follow the Aussie G
There is no way I'm going to be adding 'spoiler thread' to any threads I create. Everyone has the choice to watch all the races live if they so wish. If they choose not to why on earth should the rest of us garfield foot around? Agree 100%. Imagine if someone asked for people to not discuss footbal...

Music is so so.
But the video is second to none, far superior to the images the BBC chose.
However another year of the chain would be a bit repetitive.

Sky are going to be so great. So much detail, sure they can't go super detailed in every show but they already have done allot more than bbc & itv combined in terms of interviews and showing us stuff. Sky are going to rock us with their coverage and detail throughout the season, with a bit of humor ...

@abulafia F1 Thanks for the detailed reply, I like how constructive you are and what you say makes sense, I respect that. However we still don't know what engine settings and other settings the teams where running, and if the driver's where actually pushing the car to the max. You get a very basic p...

Re: Redbull pull a fast one...shipping in NEW car
It is quite normal in an F1 team to have a second design to go to if it turns out to be quicker than the first. Though the first design is priority and often teams have no need to go to the next design but this is F1 and the overall design of the car, which includes even the small details can make a...
