Re: 1 Lap Qualifying
Indeed, and I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the current concept, just trying to think of a way the shootout format could work. The shootout-Q3 might be easier to follow as there isn't as much action simultaneously and we'd be sure to be able to follow each lap while currently we're at th...

Then I would say no to the concept. Track conditions far too variable, it would make the whole thing artificial.mds wrote:No. Afaik the next driver would come out of the pits when the previous is doing his hot lap.Colesy917 wrote:I'm assuming that all the cars could still be on the circuit at the same time?

Re: 1 Lap Qualifying
I wasn't watching F1 back in the mid 00's so I am unfamiliar with the concept. I'm assuming that all the cars could still be on the circuit at the same time? If it was a shootout format then its obviously not fair due to changing track condition... It certainly does sound like a good concept to me a...

Re: Michelin ready to return as Formula 1 tyre supplier
Within the given specifications that everybody would have to be bound by, whatever those already be, there is the room for coming up with the better performance tyre than the concurrents. That would be all what counts: be better. The risk remains the same regardless what, and that is the risk of lo...

Regarding your first point, my position is not that the absence of competition is the underlying cause for the tyre issues, but that they facilitate it. As I've said, it's perfectly possible for a single supplier to supply technical tyres (to use Michelin's term). But I don't think it's possible fo...

Colesy, Fernando has stated before (two years ago?, maybe more) that he thought Lewis was the best (aside from himself I guess) driver in F1. So this isn't the first time he's made that comment. My comment about the Hulk was that he didn't include Seb. I'm not sure if that's because of last year's ...

He has to put Hamilton in - Lewis matched him in his rookie season, so underrating Hamilton would in effect underrate him as well. It's the same reason Lewis is always so positive about him in return; to a certain degree, their reputations are tied together, and they both benefit from talking the o...

Tough poll! In a high performance car such as an F1/LMP1 car I am leaning towards Hulkenberg... But I think Montoya would do better in a NASCAR/Touring Car race.

I respect the point you are trying to make but I think its unfair to say that his personality/attitude has changed. Whilst I agree that his natural ability/pure speed has gone off slightly and others may be more deserving of a top seat, as a character I dont think he has changed in his 14 years in F1.

Why were stands packed then? I'd hazard a guess and say tickets weren't out of the price range of a normal working person and were held in countries with a motorsport heritage. I wasn't around then, so not based on experience, I just can't believe the price it costs to attend a race in person. I ag...

I think I started a thread about this a little while ago. Fans should absolutely not have a say. What happens? The FIA publishes a survey. Example question: do you want more overtaking in F1? 1. There's no opportunity to answer 'yes... but not if it means X, Y or Z', so the results lack crucial det...

The amount of debate regarding who does and doesn't deserve a drive at the "top" teams next year got me wondering about what my ideal driver line-ups would be for Mercedes, Ferrari, Williams and Red Bull/McLaren(or whatever team is in the top four most competitive teams consistently).
