Re: 2021 Russian Grand Prix Race Thread

What was with Alonso cutting the first(?) corner on lap 1? Crofty mentioned he'd practised the move on the way to the grid, so was clearly tactical rather than avoiding action. Did he gain positions? Why wasn't it investigated? I thought it was made clear that you had to pass through the bollards o...

Re: Driver(s) of the Day - 2021 Russian Grand Prix

This is actually quite a hard decision, I don't think anyone had a fault-free race. Norris was brilliant for 50 laps but sadly it was his own decision that ultimately cost him. Hamilton lost too many positions at the start and put himself on the back foot. Sainz seemed to wear out his tyres quite e...

Re: Hamilton vs. Russell Predictions

I think where Mercedes shake out will play a big role in who comes out on top. If any Saturday advantage either way only results in a difference between the 1st two rows, so P1 to P4 at worst say, then I expect Lewis to win Sunday's most times, track dependant, whether he's coming out on top on Satu...

Re: Hamilton vs. Russell Predictions

Beating Bottas is indeed easy, IF you are Lewis Hamilton. I don't think most of the rest of the grid would find it so easy. What is also interesting is that Bottas performed a lot better against Hamilton in qualifying when the Mercedes were a step ahead of the competition, and Rosberg only beat Ham...

Re: Who will win the Championships?

Red Bull still have a car capable and Max is driving it well so It's still up for grabs. They'll need the luck to turn a bit as always, and their PU situation isn't great but it should be game on. Mercedes upgrades seemed to hit and Lewis is driving well so they'll feel good about their chances too ...

I expect the inside line to every corner to be more hotly contested than Gaza. Trouble will only emerge though when the slower car gets it. T1's on tracks that allow a favourable outcome when cutting it will also be a thing later in the year when a car gets its nose in front, thanks to Masi's nonsen...

Re: Forum verdict on the Hamilton/Verstappen collision

Hamilton's fault, he was left enough space but understeered into Verstappen. I think the penalty was fair. Although the consequences were huge the actual error itself was relatively small and does not warrant the drastic penalty that some have been calling for. In that regard I don't see his win as...

Depends on when they actually stopped and if stopped means not starting any new developments from then or if all developments under way had stopped. This will be easily answered if anything new pops up over the next few races. I find it hard to believe it's the latter as with development time being ...

In hindsight, had Mercedes been on this list, would they still have complained to the FIA? https://i.imgur.com/GDWgRQo.png Source - Imgur Well no, but that's because they'd have already sunk time and resources into it. Best start to a season for a while, hope it continues back and forth up front. Seems Bottas is well and truly fed up.
