Re: Lewis Hamilton - Forever 3rd
I agree that Lewis was not so much devil-may-care when it came to passing Felipe but bear in mind that the Sauber of Sergio was one of the quickest through the speed trap and Lewis did manage to mug both the Williams boys into turn 6 and did a good job defending his overtake on Sebastian. Towards th...

Re: Hamilton did he move twice?
My first instinct was that it ws a double move but, as mentioned, the racing line runs across the circuit down the pit straight so I guess that's why it was let go. Lewis was definiteley defending his position from Sebastian at this point. He had passed Sebastian into the hairpin at the end of the D...

Re: Vettel - Clearly not a true world champ
'The attitude of this supposed double world champ is beyond belief ...' Not really. I'd argue that this is a typical attitude of a champion, someone used to being on top. It reminds me a bit of one of our British Rowers at the Olympics who stated that if the team had won the silver medal instead of ...

I grew up listening to Murray Walker and James Hunt and that was a massive act to follow. Martin Brundle was always a good co-commentator but I was not so sure about him taking the lead role.

Re: Crash analysis: Vettel and Karthikeyan at the Malaysian
I agree with much of what Johnston says above; I also believe that Sebastian was so focused on worrying Lewis up the road and on squeezing out every inch of track available for pace that he either did not register Narain's moment on the kerb or chose to dismiss it. On a parallel with Damon's inciden...

Re: Crash analysis: Vettel and Karthikeyan at the Malaysian
Unsure about Sebastian moving away from frame 7, as it appears that the 'step' in the cyan line takes off a little of his rear wing. It only appears to show actual movement in frame 10; I'd hazard a guess that this is where the contact was made. Besdies all this, the track / racing line is clearly f...

The most amazing thing in this thread is that there are some people who still believe Schumacher didn't intentionally ram Hill at Adelaide 1994... Whilst I wouldn't argue the intention, I'd offer that it was instinctive rather then premeditated... which was what I thought of the attempt on JV...

I agree with the journal being a somewhat biased account of goings-on but it's sufficient to raise questions for those who may have questioned Kimi's own commitment after the title was bagged in 2007. For me, Kimi's own comments after Suzuka 2009, when his departure was announced, say more: '... it’...

Sebastian's comments were made largely in the heat of the moment and he has defended his right to feel frustrated, even if he has not commented on his actual words. Helmut is simply looking to get some clarification with the slower teams but his choice of words / persona does not come across well. T...

Sebastian is simply stating his right to feel frustrated, nothing about whether he is in the right or wrong. The more I read on this topic the more I am inclined to stick with my opinion on Option 3, in that drivers about to be lapped should be made aware of a lapping car bearing down but should not be expected to dive off the racing line... simply that there is no need to defend against the lapping car. I...

My tuppence worth, as this appears to be a Jenson vs Fernando thread..! Is it actually three corners, or three waved blue flags? What about a scenario in which a car about to be lapped is shown a blue flag immediately ahead of a sequence of corners (Suzuka's esses spring to mind)? It's quite difficult to both slow down and go off line without placing oneself in danger o...

I would also argue that Sebastian Vettel did a fine job of holding off Lewis Hamilton in Barcelona last year, though I ouwld add the proviso that the Red Bull was aerodynamically superior to the Macca and he did manage to create a gap off the last corner ahead of the DRS zone. Still good race manage...

As has already been mentioned on here, some of his best drives were not wins. His fightback through the field at urkay in GP2, 2006, was quite spectacular. Several of his early races in his debut year - before his maiden victory in Canada - were very good drives too. Turkey 2006: http://www.youtube....
