Re: Lewis Hamilton moves to Mercedes. To be confirmed.

Seems to me like McLaren called Hamilton's bluff. Wasn't much of a bluff if you actually do it. This deal was obviously done in Italian GP, Ron Dennis new it and seemed really miffed about it, McLaren have seemed to be on the back foot with it since then, Perez and his team hadn't talked to McLaren...

Probably the most impressive driver over the year was James Calado, coming in and performing as he did in his rookie year. Razia and Valsecchi obviously both had good years, but they've been in the series for four and five seasons respectively now. It wouldn't surprise me if neither can get a race ...

I don't know... They had just driven behind the SC for a number of laps and didn't get to use the KERS at all. I think the cars have a button to manually empty the KERS for reasons explained above, maybe Michael didn't use it?

Mika Salo was commentating the race and speculated that it might have been KERS that was too full and pushed the car under braking. But I don't think the penalty would've been that harsh had that been the case.

I remember being relieved that Kimi took the seat at Lotus instead of Williams, but now I'm not that sure anymore. How come Williams can keep up with the big boys in the development race while Lotus - with a budjet that should be similar to Williams' - can't?

We only saw him in the Brialonso environment so it's hard to tell how he could've fared in another team, probably much much better. As someone pointed out, he was the only one to stand between Lewis and his title in GP2.

Perez is not going to Ferrari in the near future. He either stays where he is now or partners Button at McLaren. Source? Source for what? I think the characteristics of the Lotus is somewhat the source for Kimi's problems in quali. Combined with his driving style you get poor quali but good race pace. McLaren admitted that their car is the other way around.
