Re: 2016 German Grand Prix Qualifying Thread

Fantastic laps from Rosberg and Ricciardo today. Nico's lap looked inch-perfect on the Skypad barring maybe a bit lost in the first corner. It didn't look perfect on the Sky Pad to me. He kept freezing, jerking and going backwards! :D I wish that they could pause that Sky Pad in the right place ins...

Re: 2016 German Grand Prix Qualifying Thread

Verstappen is so impressive, and he is only going to get better. The rest should be afraid I think. Let's wait and see what happens in Q3. I've seen this before where Verstappen appears to be miles ahead in Q2 and then Ricc comes out of nowwhere and blitzes him in Q3. Dont' think it's gonna happen ...

Re: 2016 German Grand Prix Qualifying Thread

Is Kvyat the worst driver in Formula 1 at the moment? Haryanto has been tame in the races. He has had the worst luck of any driver this season. It is also normally quite hard going backwards from a good team to a car that isn't as easy to drive. Cristian Horner mentioned this. Anyway, many drivers ...

Re: 2016 German Grand Prix Practice Thread

I find the Sky practice coverage so irritating compared to Channel 4. They haven't been talking about the practice in the slightest for over 10 minutes. What they are talking about may be interesting but they may as well talk about this in the pre - race coverage or something. Channel 4 coverage of ...

I would say this is quite easily the worst accident of Ericsson's F1 career. Probably the worst accident in F1 this year after Alonso's accident in Australia. At full speed, this looks pretty scary. Enough to force the steering wheel off.

Re: Kvyat contract not be be renewed

In China, he finished 3rd. This was when Red Bull were not as competitive as they are now so I think that was a good achievement. Ricciardo was leading the race in China before having a tyre puncture. The Bull was fine there and third place would probably have been second in Ricciardo's hands - he ...

Kvyat did beat his team mate last year. I can't remember correctly but a lot of people have been saying he had much worse luck. I don't remember that being the case. Kvyat had quite a bit of bad luck too and still ended up beating Ricciardo. However, I would still say that Ricciardo is quite a bit b...

I wouldn't vote for either Alonso or Hamilton. I am pretty surprised how many votes they both have. Alonso did preform well in terms of his position but spun in Q3 when it looked dry. He then in the race got his 3rd and final warning for track limits. I don't think any other driver got to their fina...

Re: Max Verstappen... and the next era of Formula 1

I do agree that some of Verstappen's overtakes look very impressive. However, several of them will have resulted in crashes if the driver he was overtaking didn't realise he was there. An example of this was China last year when he was overtaking Ericsson. Verstappen braked very late and if Ericsso...

I get puzzled by people saying things like "I haven't been that amazed by Verstappen" For an 17 now 18 year old kid to come into F1 and do what he has done is utterly astonishing. I still haven't managed to decide who to vote for. It is between Perez and Bottas. Bottas may not be very exciting to watch but I think he is one of the most consistent drivers on the grid. Perez may be getting better but over the past few years, he has easily made more errors than Bottas. I do know...

Just why are Williams so weak in the wet? I don't believe that Bottas and Massa are both drivers that suddenly become much weaker in the wet. I feel it must be to do with their lack of down force.
