Re: 2022 Pre-Season Test Thread (Barcelona/Bahrain)

I've also seen a pic with Mazepin having the DRS open yesterday. This begs some questions: - Did anyone else do that? - Weren't they supposed to be there, but not used? - If he managed that bad a time with the DRS open, then can we safely assume that he is truly terrible (assuming the rest weren't ...

Re: 2022 Pre-Season Test Thread (Barcelona/Bahrain)

There have been a couple of things which have caught my eye, suggesting the racing may indeed be better with these new cars. This tweet saying Sainz was following Verstappen and staying well within a second. Around this track that's very encouraging to hear, though we don't know how representative t...

Re: BREAKING NEWS... Michael Masi Removed As Race Director

I certainly wouldn't want a forum rule that we can't say or infer that someone is biased, for any reason. And it's clearly not xenophobic to suggest someone is biased due to their nationality. That said I have noticed recently with a lot of this 'British bias'/'British media bias' stuff that people ...

As if overtaking around the outside wasn't difficult enough these days, some people now want to make it all but impossible.

A healthy reminder that no matter how bad the people in charge may be when it comes to setting the overtaking rules, it could always be worse.

He should be. This is honestly a terrible direction for racecraft to have taken in the last few decades, and as a racer myself I deplore it being considered acceptable at the highest level. The idea that you can just run the other car off track as long as you're a finger ahead past the apex is the ...

He did wrong. He was "removed". Max is not a real WDC. He did not do enough, throughout the season, to clearly convince me of this - (dirty driving, brake check). Hamilton is an 8 times WDC. Unfortunately for you, reality disagrees with 2 of these statements. Maybe your reality, is based on cheatin...

Re: BREAKING NEWS... Michael Masi Sacked.

Going to be offered a new role in the FIA, no confirmation on what that is yet, but you might want to change the thread title, as 'sacked' suggests he is no longer employed by the FIA. It would be more accurate to say he has been removed from the Race Director position.

The FIA have admitted the rules were broke. I don't get why you can't. It's no longer a question of if they were. They were. The FIA have stated that. It's what do we do to stop it happening again.
Genuine question - have they? Could you give a link? I can't find anything from google.

If the leader has completed more than two laps but less than 25% of the scheduled race distance, the top five finishers will be awarded points on a 6-4-3-2-1 scale. I feel like this could feel a little farcical if it happened on a sprint weekend. I'm not a massive fan of the livery, but I can't put my finger on why. It'll probably grow on me through testing.
To me it just looks a bit messy and unprofessional, like a generic livery you would be able to chose on a video game. At least it's colourful. Maybe it will look better on track.

Hamilton in 2018 form clinches the title with the slight car advantage. Agreed. Verstappen hasn't yet reached the level of Hamilton's peak (17/18). Let's wait and see what happens in '22, but my gut feeling is Hamilton is in the decline from his peak and Verstappen is in his ascendancy toward his, ...
