Re: Has watching F1 made you a smarter driver?
Are you quite light? Karting is massively dependant on weight, especially on single geared, low powered rental karts. I'm hopeless at karting when it comes to any semi serious level, but I weigh 90kg. I used to do a league thing on rented karts, and it was dominated by small guys and girls. (Indeed...

I'm not sure you don't have marbles with any racing tire. To create a really durable tire with superior grip is not an easy feat.

Re: McLaren have dropped Kevin Magnussen
Mclaren dropped him by sending a short email on his birthday. That's one classy team. The thing is, they have a horrible young drivers programme. They don't know how to manage it and are screwing their drivers, making their champions wait, and just creating a mess all around. Yes, Hamilton worked f...

Re: So which drivers do you want to see on top?
I want to see Alonso in a car where he can fight Vettel and Hamilton on equal terms for one time at least before his time is up in the sport. Ricciardo would be my next pick to be in position to fight for a title, but he's got time; Alonso doesn't. My selection is a three-way battle between McLaren...

Re: McLaren have dropped Kevin Magnussen
Magnussen has already had his chance, and Vandoorne looks more promising. It makes sense. That said, I do think that Magnussen would be an improvement on Stevens at Manor, although I doubt that they'll make the switch. With Manor now taking Mercedes powertrains it makes sense that Mercedes might pl...

Realistically speaking McHonda is a pretty good place to be. When they do finally get their t issues sorted he will have had time with two WDCs to show him how to succeed in F1. I thought I would just fix that for you. ;) While I understand that Stoffel is a very good choice for any team to have, I...

Ref the "qualli mod" I may be wrong, but I can not see how they could use tokens for that. Tokens are for actual mechanical changes to metal (or other) parts and the car goes straight into bond after Qualli, so nothing mechanical can be altered before the race. I feel really bad for Vandoorne. Now they'll screw up his career too. Seriously, how many tiems are they going to string some young driver along and allow some of his best years to go to waste? If Vandoorne doesn't believe in McLaren he can go elsewhere. He's not a slave. I think after this GP2 cam...

Bottas braked in the normal place, turned in the normal place after ascertaining that Kimi was too far behind to pass, Kimi was still 2 car lengths behind when Bottas turned into the corner. From that point Bottas is looking forward, Kimi basically didn't brake in order to get to the apex first als...

Blackhander, Bottas came from the complete other side of the track to make that corner. That is a legitimate driving line but I really doubt it is either the standard or optimum driving line for that bend. There are a lot of factors that affect these stats - amusing that people get hung up on a driver's first season or two that will cover a small percentage of races by the time these drivers are out. Hamilton may have started in a competitive car but I think it is fair to say that he has also had ver...

The angle of that video makes Kimis move look slightly less extreme, but it also shows that he would NEVER have made that corner whether Bottas was there or not and would have shot off into the run off area. Brawn with much less resources took a car designed for a Honda engine and turned it into a WCC/WDC. The BGP-001 was developed on pretty much the biggest budget ever in F1 (at the time at least). When I had gone back and done a bit of research I would say the issue about reliability wasn't really resolved until somewhere in the mid-late 1990's. Not even in the 90's was it uncommon for 1/2 of the field not to finish the race. Ferrari raised the bar extremely high during their 2000-2004 winni...
