Re: 2019 Canadian Grand Prix Race Thread

Bottom line is had Seb not lost control he wouldn't have got a penalty. Consider If you divebomb down the inside into a corner and understeer into someone you can't use the defence that once you had locked up you couldn't avoid a crash - you get yourself out of control, you pay the consequences.

Re: 2019 Canadian Grand Prix Race Thread

Hamilton: "I forced him into error". What a joke. Is that not what happened? Lewis should not rub salt into it, specially as Vettel showed class in asking crowd not to boo him In fact, it was Lewis who asked for penalty. And then, when Vettel approaches and asks, "where should I go", Lewis just ans...

I urge all of you that can drive to take your car out tomorrow, find a bit of grass and see what braking from about 60mph is like. Then imagine twice that speed in a car with hardly any suspension travel and slick tyres. No thanks, I'd rather do what Lewis did and not drive on the grass to start wi...

Re: 2019 Canadian Grand Prix Race Thread

Good if vettel if he just leaves. I agree. He must be pretty embarrassed with once again making an unforced error when he gets near Lewis. Hamilton seems pretty chilled after all those errors into the hairpin, maybe he has a thicker skin though? Locking up going into a hairpin when a second or so b...

Lewis' engineer sums it up perfectly. Forced the error and took the win. You can't expect to lose control, re-enter dangerously and not have some kind of consequence.

Think that was a touch naughty, he could have kept left if he really wanted to. That said, I wouldn't want to be the steward handing out a penalty there. You have no idea if he could stay left. Come on, he re-entered the track on dirty tyres and got oversteer due to a slide. Come on! There's not mu...

Manual gearboxes with conventional 3 pedal control. That would sort the men from the boys. It really wouldn't. The Sky team talked about this during the past GP weekend, and Anthony Davidson was dead on when he said that it's just another skill every driver will learn. There's nothing inherently di...

That was odd, Ferrari are supposed to be better on the straight yet Vettel didn't gain any time over Hamilton's provisional pole lap on the back straight. May have been the tow.
