Re: [Lets discuss]Sprint race qualifying idea...
Not saying I agree with a Sprint Race specifically, but I really don’t see the issue with change – always hard to take for the purists but no different to other sports and realms of life. The fact is that most things constantly evolve, and if they didn’t then they would get left behind. The tecnnica...

Out of those options, I went for 2. My choice would be to drop qualifying and just use WDC standings with top 10 reversed. Next race: 1. Kvyat 2. Hulkenberg 3. Verstappen 4. Massa 5. Vettel 6. Grosjean 7. Raikkonen 8. Ricciardo 9. Hamilton 10. Rosberg ------------- 11. Bottas 12. Sainz Jnr 13. Vand...

Someone please check his pulse to make sure he hasn't been replaced by a cyborg, because Raikkonen 2.0 is a completely different animal than in the last few years. His qualifying is now top tier, his starts excellent, and he is no longer racing for top ten but top four. Raikkonen has listened to cr...

Re: New Qualifying Format Binned Official (Not Really)
I don't understand how that's fairer than e.g. three sessions? What's unfair about that? Car failure preventing a driver improving his time or not allowing him to set a time, means elimination. How can you think that is fair? A car failure can happen at any time. Vettel didn't even make it to the s...

Re: Could Vettel have won the race if not for the engine fai
I don't think Vettel would have been any closer to Rosberg than Kimi was. Rosberg would simply turn his engine one notch up and coast to an equally easy win. It would push the Merc engine slightly harder, but hardly a game changer. Isn't it about time we stopped pretending the Merc engine is the ga...

Re: [Lets discuss]Sprint race qualifying idea...
Reverse Top 10 would potentially see a big divide open up between 10th and the rest - not the end of the world perhaps but something to consider. How about remove the start - that way you remove the major chance of cars getting tangled up which would be a harsh reason to start from the back of the g...

A few have mentioned that Alonso made a fair few mistakes in 2007, and didn’t have his best season, which is fair enough. Is it not also fair to say that Hamilton himself made a few mistakes, to be expected from a rookie, as well as a few unfortunate failures throughout the year? A pretty nasty acc...

Re: Just who is the best F1 driver on the grid?
I agree that Vettel is judged harshly on 2014, and that if he had stayed on a few years against Ricciardo he may well have slowly clawed his way back into contention and bounced back against DR. I think Vettel is possibly second to none with the detail and effort he puts in when he senses victory. ...

Re: Just who is the best F1 driver on the grid?
To each his own. If Villeneuve and Moss were not proof enough, Vettel has definitely devalued the WDC title with his empty 4 time repeat and the unprecedented humiliation of 2014 (fact) Does that mean Lewis is a 3x WDC with two empty titles? Vettel has "devalued" the WDC??? In what way? Sorry Blake...

Re: What should F1's core values be?
Of course the cars need to be quick but I think people get to hung up on this aspect, and as long as they remain in the current ball park, perhaps a touch quicker, then I really don’t think this is a huge issue. They just need to be fast enough and difficult enough to drive, to test those quickest d...

@LKS1 How can Alonso's 2007 be considered bad when Hamilton retired in China and had a quasi terminal failure in Brazil? not to mention Hamilton was not really racing Alonso in the first 4 races? Bad is relative. We're talking bad for Alonso, which just shows how much the expectation of him is. In ...

Vettel - seriously? He made a rookie error on the penultimate turn which cost him a possible 2nd place. Got out of shape a little while in dirty air, on well used tyres and pushing to the limit to give himself a chance of taking Hamilton for P2. Rather see him go for it than sit back and accept 3rd.

I'm confused. I thought last year many said it was okay to run your team mate off in turn one lap one. I have also been saying this for years. The world of F1 contains some of the best engineers on the planet. The best driver on the grid is in the best car on the grid. Unfortunately that combination makes for a little bit too much predictability, and as his confidence grows it’s hard to see it changing. I would not be that shocked if Hamilton called it a day if he won the title this year. He has a lot of other interests and his next goal post is a long way off in F1. Hamilton’s next goal post is a moving one – to win more titles than Vettel. I think and hope he will want to stick around and try an...

Qualifying will remain as a one-hour session, split into three segments, but drivers must be on track throughout each part until they get knocked out.
