Re: Senna vs Schumacher
ob1 - I think that Senna was the faster driver and qualifier - but MS used his head better whereas AS threw some races away by being too 'on the limit'. Overall, I think AS was better but obviously others (including you) will differ. I think Fangio was better than both - in every respect and particu...

ob1 - but even launch control was illegal - and it was hidden - and Benetton lied about it - and Benetton contradicted MS' statements about it - and they falsified material (all of which should have had the team disqualified) - then the fuel rig - which gave faster refuelling and allowed the team to...

Re: RIP - Sir Jack Brabham passes away
Great pic blinky - and Jack very nearly won the 1967 WDC also and was competitive at age 44 with a win and pole in his final 1970 season when some reliability would have helped as well. The only driver to have designed the car and won in a car with his own name (including an Australian designed and ...

Re: the death of the Indy 500???
I agree that the Indy 500 is legendary - however, is an oval track race really a test of skill or something suited to modern racing?
In that respect - do we want to bring back hay bales and death trap cars because they're legend - or shall we move on?

Re: Senna vs Schumacher
I think it's clear that Senna was quicker than MS in 1994 but the williams was a dog in race trim till late in the season and the 'ILLEGAL' benneton was clearly the better car for the early part of the season and enjoyed a maximum advantage due to Williams DNF. In hindsight we know that MS should ha...

As for others, not sure it's multiple engines - maybe bolt ons that can be added to older engines and therefore nothing changed (as may be the case for other teams…at least non merc teams).

I think we need to consider for vetted how the car suited - versus team mate - and team orders/ preference - then for hamilton - the same (for car) although I don't see Merc playing favourites at this point. Nico has the race pace - but his race craft is sometimes not good - and NR sometimes makes s...

Re: Redbull Believe Vettel's chassis is faulty
I'm hesitant to enter into this as an Aussie supporting DR - however - I would say that it seems SV is using a chassis from first testing (that Seb liked) rather than a new chassis - nonetheless, this may well have new stuff bolted to it - but how would we know that this is any different to DR. The guy is a talented driver and 4 time WDC - argue merits otherwise - he will no doubt bounce back and with 'new chassis' dodge etc as excuse, may turn things around very quickly. Clearly, the Merc is the car/engine to beat - then daylight - then others. I don't think anyone other than Mercedes can...

Re: Redbull Believe Vettel's chassis is faulty
Back to 2010 I see - I seriously doubt there is ANYTHING wrong with the chassis - but it makes for a good story - gives Seb an excuse for performances below his expected standard. I'd imagine the real team know what is what - but if there isn't a 'real' issue - then it's a slap in the face of Riccia...

You can't be the 'best driver' if in a car with a second a lap advantage, no safety car and fewer problems than any other driver - you haven't lapped all but the top 6 and been right behind 6th. FA / DR or one of the lower level cars doing above average was the star of the race - LH - excellent job,...

Re: Did Vettel Cost Ricciardo The Podium?
FA's tyres were shot by the end - so the straight line speed would have been seriously negated - that 'may' have made a difference (assuming the race went full distance and wasn't artificially cut short) - so what Vettel did was rob Ricciardo of the chance to try and overtake - and I'm not so sure h...

Err Gregwil - Ricciardo has overtaken a number of good drivers this year - including Vettel when both are racing and there wasn't any excuse for SV to be slower. DR has out qualified and beaten SV in 3 of the 4 races. You surely can't suggest that Vettel qualifying 11th was somehow better than Dan w...

I don't think Seb is frustrated because of Ricciardo. He willingly let Ricciardo through in Bahrain and also let him by today. Re: Let's compare Red Bull "dominance" with Mercedes
Red Bull's dominance all centered around one man, Mercedes have 2 and they are prepared to race at least. Or in other words, Red Bull's car was not dominant enough for Mark Webber to consistently get into the top 2, and it needed a world class driver to produce the goods. The Merc on the other hand...

Ah - Thanks for the additional information. From what the commentators said (and the image on the TV here in Oz) it suggested that Massa had infringed from earlier in the pit entry including the initial white line separating this from the rest of the track rather than just where the line widened.

It would be a technicality - but like Massa, Vettel seemed to clearly cross all four wheels into the pit lane entry on the last lap before crossing the line to take the chequered flag. I didn't see any other infraction by him during the race. If so, without the chance to take a drive through penalty...
