Re: when, and to where, will the Ricciardo move take place?
I haven't seen any evidence that Mercedes and/or Ferrari are even interested in Ricciardo, apart from the political 'he's an excellent driver'-talk. Some journalists are acting like he can work for whatever team he wants, he only has to ask and that's far from the truth in my opinion. His best opti...

Re: when, and to where, will the Ricciardo move take place?
I've said it before and I'll say it again: it makes zero sense for Dan to leave Red Bull at the moment. They are improving practically with every race and once again look like they have the best chassis, even overcoming their PU deficit in races. With the new engine regulations around the corner wh...

Has this comment from Marko been missed (apologies if it's already been discussed)? I haven't seen it quoted anywhere else, but apparently he said: "For me that is 70 percent the fault of Verstappen,” Marko added. “He drives there zig-zag, that's completely pointless. I think Ricciardo is very smart and incredibly savvy. I doubt he'll go to Ferrari if he's a nailed on No.2, nor will he stay at RBR if the team keep favouring Verstappen. I am certain there is a lot more going on behind the scenes and it will probably all become clear when he makes his decision. No...

The most baffling thing is that both drivers declined to apportion blame, which is down to the RB PR machine I guess and suited Max fine to just brush it off. But I'd expect Daniel to be furious with his team mate, absolutely furious. He stood there just saying exactly the same line, no point into ...

The only grey area would be an argument that Max was not in the braking zone when he made the second move. Maybe Max hadn't applied the brakes by the time he completed his second move? Ricciardo was going faster and more to the inside, so had to brake earlier and harder. So is the braking zone - Ma...

Re: When should drivers defend an overtake by a team mate?
Baku is unique, if two drivers have quite an equal pace then they can theoretically change position almost every lap due to the monster slipstream and DRS. Cars routinely overtook whilst being 0.9 behind coming into the full throttle part, meaning DRS + slipstream was worth over 0.9 which raises th...

I was surprised to read that Both Riciardo and Max has been reprimanded. I don't quite see what Riciardo's done wrong. What if the team mates are the main, or the only for that matter, contenders for the WDC? Think Hamilton / Rosberg, Prost / Senna, Mansell / Piquet. Every time. But you've left something out: attack and defend according the rules. Beyond that, there is the obvious requirement to see both cars score points. I think the 'according to the rules' is difficult to determine. To me, Max at Baku was 'Mad Max' with several of his moves being based on 'y...

I find the stewards' verdict to be very strange. And very wrong. At the closing speeds Ricciardo had over Max, even minor direction changes are potentially significant. And this once again sends the message to Max that he can be a danger to others without consequence. Very questionable decision IMO...

When should drivers defend an overtake by a team mate?
To catch another car and get to a position to overtake requires being faster than the car you have caught at that time. Logically, on many occasions the car in front was faster at another time in order to get in front...... or it could simply be pit stops or something that puts the cars out of posit...

Pirelli's recommended pit strategies: Quickest theoretical strategy for tomorrow is a one-stop strategy: Start on supersoft for 20 laps, then soft for 31 laps. Second-quickest strategy is also a one-stopper: Start on ultrasoft for 10 laps, then 41 laps on soft to the flag. Ideal two-stopper: Start ...

Despite starting on the third row, I suspect Verstappen will in a very short time get up there mixed with the Mercs, which could actually help Vettel by eliminating the 'two drivers to cover' problem. Ricciardo tends to play a little safer at the start, and if there is a charge by him it will come l...

Autosport cautiously relates it to in-corner changes of engine mapping to create exhaust blowing. Yeah Ferrari denied that one and going by the pace difference between Seb and Kimi so far this year it can't be adding much if it did do that. The funny thing is that Dan might be too good to be attractive to Mercedes or Ferrari.
