Re: A very serious Michael Andretti regarding F1 a big mess
Yes Andretti has been in F1 as racing driver for "almost" a full season. I personally thought he never wanted to look back on F1. Even though he is right why does he care? He would like to compete in the series (a series he also praises) again but this time as a team owner? Some people are way too ...

Re: Driver Salaries 2015
Red Bull have always been so stingy when it comes to driver salaries. I remember Vettel earning a lot less than he should even when he was 3 and 4 times WDC. Button, Bottas and Merhi also should earn more than they do. Merhi in particular, why does he have to earn a third of what Stevens earns? Whe...

Re: Judgement Against Lotus: $1 million now due
Sounds about right. Having followed Lotus fairly closely in 2012-2013 with Kimi being there, it was abundantly clear in 2013 that there was some shaky financial ground and questionable leadership / decision making. Thankfully F1 is brilliantly run so a team like Lotus who's been successful in the la...

Re: Hamilton to Mercedes; Biggest Gamble Ever?
Most team changes are gambles unless going from back markers to front runners. Hamilton indeed took a big leap. No one should deny him that. But it had quite a bit of logic to it: 1. They were improving with their tyre wear in 2012. 2. They were improving with their one lap pace in 2012. 3. The publ...

Re: Who were the best drivers in wet races?
Button seems to lack the outright pace of Hamilton in full wet conditions. The difference is his great feel in changeable conditions and optimal strategy calls. Button seems to lack the outright pace of Hamilton in general. That changes nothing in my mind. Look at Button's record vs. any of his tea...

2006 Hungarian Grand Prix http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2f2z9f Alonso was an absolute monster in this race, simply out of this world. He started 15th and overtook NINE cars on the opening lap. Before Raikkonen's crash brought out the safety car on lap 26, he was 39 seconds ahead of the McLaren'...

F1 isnt too slow. F1 is "slow" because of external factors, the actual cars are the quickest we've seen for a long time . While I don't think F1 is slow, I'm a bit puzzled by what your definition of "a long time" is. Probably '04. If this year's car had the technical freedoms concerning s...

Well, at this point, if I was a team principal/owner, I'm not sure I'd prefer either as lead driver. If no #1 driver was available or already in the team though, I'd still take them as a lead driver over many others out there. If the car was a front runner, I'd take Kimi without question as the qua...

Kvyat has been very good recently. However it is hard to compare the 2 drivers when the Renault engines are so flaky. Is that much different from last year though? Both Kvyat and Vettel last year had tons of engine issues (and so did the other Renault guys, too) which could have comprimised speed a...

I think the comparisons just go to show how awesome our (motorsport) world is in general with its diversity. It's nice to see so many different methods of doing things. Looks to me like Kimi got wheel spin over an uneven / bumpy track surface, and simply couldn't save it due to the high speed. Probably due to being on prime tire with little heat (let's be honest, it looks like he barely tries to get heat in them coming up to the grid slots...)

Potentially past drivers? Maybe Kamui for taking the seat in the green car? Kamui wasn't doing it to get paid or "say" he was in F1 though. Doing that wouldn't affect the actual "racing" much. It would actually keep that aspect cleaner since we are talking about racing that takes place on the same real estate (i.e. not separated lanes like track & field). Entertainment-wise? Overtaking-wise? Of course not. Not to me at least. But I admi...

As Zoue and Prema have suggested, I, too, feel this is a proposition to Arrivabene. But could be about Button and Massa, too, given their long careers.
