Re: IS SAUBER BETTER THAN THE TEAM THINKs
What I'm afraid of is that Sauber won't be able to keep up the development race. Keep in mind James Key just left the team before the season started.

Re: Bernie considering "Grand Slam" races with more points
This is the dumbest idea I've ever heard. F1 is here to show the best drivers and the best teams in the world. This would take away from that. If he wants to add points add 2 points for a fastest lap and/or 3 points for a pole position. I was thinking something along the same line, but I think they...

Lotus had a pretty innovative and effective exhaust solution last year...they were never a terrible team.

Maybe it's referring to the Sauber itself. Magical P2 out of the blue!

Really gimmicky...what's the point really? Oh, right. Probably larger hosting fees for Grand Slam races. It doesn't add anything to entertainment value of the sport.

Re: This year who are the two most evenly matched teammates?
Back in 2010, I didn't think Button would be a match for Hamilton - he was close that year, but always looked a tad slower. Now, I'm really impressed that they're going neck to neck.

Uhh guys...we saw in 2010 that Vettel is pretty petulant when he doesn't win. This is nothing new.

Re: Kimi dropping 10+ spots in a little over a lap
What was weird to me was that he lost 4-5 seconds for two laps each, then for the rest of the race, he was only 2 seconds off his previous ace. After falling off the cliff, the tyres stabilize?

I voted based on if I were an F1 driver, who would I least want as a teammate. Therefore, I voted Alonso.

Re: The Future of Mark Webber
Hamilton and Webber swap doesn't make any sense to me. McLaren have so far provided him with a really competitive, if not the best car, this season. McLaren have supported Hamilton for ages, and they seem to be quite happy with his performance. Red Bull will keep signing Webber if he stays quick, an...

Fernando Alonso without a doubt. He is consistently quick, fights hard in sub-par cars, and doesn't seem to have much drama in his life that would hinder his performance.
Edit: Alonso isn't my favorite driver, but I think he is (one of) the best though.

Well, I think he realizes that there is no point being upset. He's already got 7 championships...he probably just enjoys driving so much at this point that anything else is just icing on the cake.

Re: Did Raikkonen just become favorite to win the race ?
Let's not forget Hamilton won last year on a 3 stop strategy vs. the standard 2 stop. This could imply that tyre management is less important on this circuit, and that the extra pace of a new set can offset an extra pitstop. If so, even though Mercedes has been hard on their tyres, if their race pac...

Re: Kobayashi for the win
Sauber mixing it with the front runners is a dream come true. If they can fight for the race win, or even podiums, that would be a huge boost of confidence (and finances) for the team. KK's stock will shoot up if he can get on the podium tomorrow.

Re: Vettel - Clearly not a true world champ
One bad qualifying doesn't erase the fact that's he's the youngest double world champion. It's troubling that he's not comfortable with the new exhaust layout, but that doesn't take away from his skills. It just isn't suiting his driving style. For all the people praising Webber all of a sudden, let...

There is already a lot of sexism in motor sports. Having a sub-par DTM driver represent women in F1 will only hurt perception of female drivers. Sigh.

Hamilton, if he manages to stay consistent. He's going to have a really tough time though, with Button, Alonson, and Vettel chasing him.

Re: Protesters calling F1 to cancel 2012 Bahrain GP
F1 will probably stay out of Bahrain. It can't be good for the commercial rights holders to be seen doing business with murderous tyrants. Ecclestone may not care about the humanitarian reasons, but he most certainly cares about his bottom line.

Re: Ferrari need to swap Massa for Perez immediately
Perez makes it to the podium under rain conditions and all are making him out to be the next Fangio. I recall 2 years ago when Hulkenberg did the same and he got sacked that year with Williams. Perez has proven nothing other than the team got the tire change correctley as did with Hulkenburg under ...

Lol, I love these threads. The guy has scored two poles, two P3, is second in championship, and people still think he's lost his marbles. I guess everyone, even his detractors, have really high expectations for him...
If he keeps this up, he'll have a real shot at the championship this year.

Re: Sergio Perez: Can one race make a career?
Perez's career was already pretty set. His main selling point is that he's Mexican and therefore brings huge Mexican sponsorship. That said, his last race definitely solidified his career and made him attractive to every team, including the top three. Even though Vettel had done very well over the 2...

I have been lurking on this forum since I started watching F1 in 2008, and finally decided to make an account after the forums were wiped. My favorite drivers are ALO, HAM, BUT, ROS, VET, in no particular order. I decided to join the forum to share my thoughts on F1.
