Re: Abu Dhabi changes.

I always thought it’d be good to see a 270 degree corner, which cuts back under itself with a short bridge/tunnel, somewhere. A bit of a gimmick but it’d be a real test of mechanical grip and minimum apex speed.

Obviously that’s better but I don’t think the green asphalt/tarmac needs to be there at all. Let’s them run up on the kerbs and that’s it.

For the sake of completeness the Noda-Fittipaldi incident took place on the last lap with Noda having been on his tail for the whole race. The circuit is not conducive to overtaking without high risk. Although the circumstances were not exactly the same, 2 of the 3 incidents I referred to from last...

Re: Abu Dhabi changes.

I’ve always hated just how angular the corners were in AD. The apex never follows the racing line through a corner, they’re all just jagged lumps which stick into the track.

These proposals look like a definite improvement, although that’s not saying an awful lot.

Bottas and Mercedes is starting to get that Seb and Ferrari messy divorce feel about it. Get ready for an hour and a half of Crofty talking about the prospect of rain whenever he sees any remotely dark cloud on the horizon, moving in the wrong direction and not actually producing any precipitation. In theory I’d say the fewer moving parts the better when it comes to anything mechanical. No technology will ever be perfect but Brundle often mentions how the prospect of a stuck throttle or brake failure used to terrify him long before -by-wire technology. Indeed, cars are far more reliable than t...

I just thought why not just let them race on softs. No hards or mediums. The softs are fast but degrade fast depending on driver's skill. That way there would be two or three pitstops but those who were fast but took care of their tyres would shine. That’s basically what 2012 was. A whole race of t...

Just went with the podium. Don’t really know what else to say. They all followed each other by about 1.5s for a bit, then some of them jumped or dropped a place or two in the pits. You don't need a tinfoil hat to understand that there is absolutely no incentive for the guy leading qualifying not to crash. Happens way to often.
