Option 7: Hold a lottery and instead of qualifying before every race just show the little known Lee Majors racing car movie The Last Chase each time.
I'm interested to know if this would be more popular than the current system.

Re: Bottas Hamilton Accident - Who was at fault?
Racing incident. The punishment was pathetic. If we're going to put drivers off from having a go at passing when there's that much room , we're in for a very dull season. As for either driver being slightly in front, we've got to get away from that. Nobody has a right to any bit of track imo. You h...

75% Bottas' fault
25% Hamilton's fault
But it was a racing incident all the same. People make mistakes.

Alonso v Herbert
Herbert has said this morning that Alonso should retire, basically because he's lost his motivation and isn't as quick as he was. Nothing too unusual but it's a fairly forthright set of comments and you'll find it easily through google if interested. The funny thing is what just happened on Sky's P3...

I like these games too. It's important to know why we're being held hostage. For example if it's a bank robbery I'd think there's a good chance of us all surviving and would be less likely to make a run for it. If it was a terrorist attack I'd assume the end game is to kill us all anyway, in which c...

Does anyone know what a chest scan could have revealed that would lead to this? The current cars are far too easy to drive so mistakes are rare. I remember, not all that long ago, when drivers got out of the car looking like they'd just run a marathon and were nearly ready to collapse. Nowadays they don't break a sweat, we saw that drivers were only starting to get tired after...

Well, I feel that if 2016 elimination qualifying is mentioned, 2005 aggregate time qualifying should get a mention too. A system so awful not even all F1 enthusiasts on this forum remember because it was dropped after a few races as well. Above tops are all good, except two things I don't really ag...

Perhaps the time has come for F1 teams to renew their threats from a few years ago to break away, form a new series and ride off into the sunset leaving Bernie and his broken F1 in it's dust......just a thought. I'm not so sure a breakaway series is such a great idea anyway. Surely Merc and Ferrari...

Bernie cracks me up. His latest is that it's not just abut money it's also about MotoGP. He doesn't want to share the venue with MotoGP and if Imola don't step in he'll go to... Mugello. A circuit more synonymous with MotoGP than virtually any other. It's also owned by Ferrari, which raises question...

Verstappen. Next? Obviously, he was very impressive in his rookie year. Some of his racecraft vision was exceptional, though sometimes forceful in a way where the more elite racers wouldn't put up with it and we'd end up with collisions. He was more impressive than his rookie team-mate, but ultimat...

Renault have always used their tokens more sparingly than the others. They don't have the budget of the other three so don't develop as much which means they don't use their tokens so quickly. Last year quite a few people broke with the official line and pointed out how the token system actually doe...

This is how the FIA works. The regs are kept vague, contradictory and inconsistent so they can be interpreted however the FIA wants. Think about this: we know the intention is for the guy eliminated first to start last, and so on up through the pack. If you read these regs they describe the process ...

Just shut up and go, Mateschitz. If you can't accept being beaten graciously, or at least quietly, without demanding, threatening and sulking, then you shouldn't be involved in any sport, least of all one so competitive and challenging. I'm so bored of this soap opera.

Diageo co-own Mallya's company USL. USL lent $135m dollars to Force India (through a subsidiary). A couple of weeks ago Diageo forced Mallya out of USL and took over his 42% share in Force India as collateral on the loan. It looks like they weren't happy with a company they part own funding their pa...

I can understand doing it for money of course (eg James Hunt). Or because you have a lot to offer and are good at it - and need a new career (Brundle). Or even because it's a laugh staying in touch with your old friends and colleagues (Hill). And although I don't understand it I'm aware some people ...

It's interesting to see these figures but they don't automatically mean much. Apart from the reliability factor already mentioned, you can have a great championship with just one team winning, as long as the two drivers are closely matched. Or you can have seasons like 2012 when the random element l...

Obviously it couldn't happen as the teams wouldn't stand for such a curtailing of their potential to sell branding. But that's not what you're asking.
