Re: 2021 Belgian Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread

I believe Latifi wasn't looking very carefully and was at fault, but as for the racing line, he was also perfectly on in as far as I can see, moving gently out to the left before the bus stop. It only looks like he wasn't because Lewis, in an attempt to pass, moved left much earlier than normal. I ...

I find it odd that Hamilton would be going round the outside. Doesn't that rather point to Latifi also being on a fast lap?
Nothing odd at all when the outside is the racing line.

That was close with Latifi and Hamilton. How was he not warned Hamilton was coming...??? Because Latifi was on a fast lap as well. What going that slowly, I doubt that. Maybe that's the difference in performance between the two cars. He must be on a fast lap as I don't say any other reason. If he w...

Mercedes themselves report from the GPS data that Verstappen was going 1kmph faster into Corpse than his fastest lap in qualifying, despite running 100kg of fuel and on cold and harder tyres and on a tighter line. So it seems neither would make the corner. Verstappen was taking a wider line than no...

I know, but it would be a very slippery slope... How would they know that Hamilton would win the race in order to punish him more severely? I'm not sure about Imola and Hamilton fans complaining but wasn't Barcelona a dive bomb pass by Max which if Hamilton hadn't yielded he would have been into the barrier at high speed at least according to Horner. The wording was car 44 was predominantly to blame meaning he was not fully to blame.

Therefore in the stewards eyes both drivers could have done more to avoid the collision hence why imo its a RACING INCIDENT.

I hope Max returns the favor in the future. Senna vs Prost in the making. I think we live in different times, a deliberate take out would surely result in a race ban. I think yesterday bordered on deliberate from Hamilton (see the stewards' comments about car 44 not trying to make the apex), but it...

Both could have done more.

Feel the stewards needed to look like they have done something.
