Pathetic.

I think it could look pretty cool. It's just a big change but in time we'll look back and wonder why it took so long for such things to be used.

I am very happy. This could be a masterful idea. I've seen him interviewed a few times recently and he's got a fun personality. Re: Closed Cockpits Almost Here
The regular feathering of the throttle and brake pedal is fantastic to watch. Just shows how they don't simply hit the brake before the corner and bang that accelerator to the floor on exit. There is a reason F1 coverage uses a bar chart style of graphic to show pedal use. Being able to actually see...

It is such a shame that so much of the driver in hidden. In closed LMP cars, although you can see the driver going much from outside, there is plenty of room inside the cockpit for a variety of cameras which show the drivers working incredibly hard. In the future, if F1 cars do become completely cov...

Re: Closed Cockpits Almost Here
I can remember the complaints from media and fans alike when the high sided cockpits were introduced in 1996. It was seen as a tragedy but we could never allow drivers to be as exposed as they were before then. Things change: if they do end up with some kind of over the head protection, we'll all be...

Avoiding the obvious areo problems, a steering wheel with no controls would be great. If the greatest drivers can adjust engine modes and brake balance to avoid the need for them to actually use their skill to drive around a slightly miss performing / handling car, there's something seriously wrong.

You made me wonder, since it is a kit car series, I suppose you can't call it a formula in the first place. I think you can - it's just that the formula is very strict. Compare it to F4 or F3 (speed aside, of course :) ). It's been years since I've been able to watch the Indycars on the telly, but ...

I don't blame the BBC for not moving F1 on in a way some fans want. I blame Bernie. The BBC in its prime was full of sport, but we only had a choice of three channels back then, It's hardly surprising that they have had to cut back so much. It's a big shame but inevitable.
People moan about the BBC all the time, but they will miss it when it gets smaller and smaller.

I don't see them quitting any time soon, however, the constantly rising profile of Sports Car racing could be a sensible alternative.
If Ferrari entered that as a full factory team, the profile of the sport would rocket.

This thing about needing to be in line axle to axle should be irrelevant. Whilst I'm not saying the nose of the car being in line with the rear wing of the other car gives them right of way, being roughly alongside should be enough and we simply have to trust the drivers a stewards to make the call ...

But it's not simply about an outside pass. Sometimes you are being overtaken by someone going up the inside. You take the corner side by side but the issue driver forces you off. Imo, 2 cars side by side should always have to give each other a card width, regards of the corner and who's trying to pa...

Forcing a driver off track - who's got right of way.
I feel this has been discussed quite frequently this year so perhaps a thread was in order. Today's race again highlighted something that I think it a blight on the sport at the moment. It would appear that a driver on the inside of a corner is seemingly allowed to run out wide on the exit of the co...
