Re: 2021 calendar
Thinking out loud here, but are the races postponed due to issues over current Covid levels and teams flying in and out of the country, or are the organisers hoping that dates later in the year will enable fans in and therefore lots more money? I can't see how that works because there are 23 races ...

Off-season entertainment.
Well, with not a lot of 2021 F1 news at present, I am enjoying some of the old racing that is being shown on Sky F1. Yesterday they showed extended highlights of a host of wins by Hill. Today, I'm currently enjoying 45 minutes worth of coverage of the 1985 Belgian GP. It's wet, obviously, and when M...

Not this absolute rubbish again. Hamilton is one of the top 5000 taxpayers in the UK. Its disgusting hypocrisy. https://i.redd.it/zgtibi383l861.jpg Source: Reddit I don't have an issue with Hamilton's tax status but I've seen that graphic a few times and it's kind of a stretch. Re: The Official Sir Lewis Hamilton thread
Whilst I don't like that so many wealthy people use tax havens to avoid paying taxes in their home country, it's worth remembering that Hamilton did not apply for his knighthood. He was offered it. Therefore, if there is any blame of complaint to be made, it certainly shouldn't in any way be aimed a...

I think it's worth remembering that Brawn GP destroyed all opposition due to what was basically a single aero device. A complicated one I grant you, but still a single bit of kit that worked brilliantly and exploited the regulations wonderfully. In 2009, the gap between the first and last car in qu...

This is a hugely unpopular opinion, but I honestly wouldn’t mind Formula 1 becoming a spec series in the future. Let the best driver win. It's a hugely unpopular opinion for a good reason. Saying it's victim blaming, that the man has all the authority etc. is completely wide of the mark. Women fly across the world (or across the Caucasus at least) to willingly put themselves in this situation. These men aren't kidnappers, they don't travel around rounding up all the pretty women in c...

If they're even a slight doubt in their mind, Haas should drop him so they don't lose sponsors. He's not coming into F1 as the greatest F2 driver for decades, so I don't see it as being a big loss.

By the time they get to F1, they've been wearing helmets for years. Yes, but they could be in F1 for 10 years or more. Everything changes once they get to F1. New personal sponsors, etc. Is there no other way to identify a driver? Well, the helmet is the only bit we see when they're driving. Yes, t...

Re: Alonso's Renault R25 2005 V-10 today at Abu Dhabi
I think it's important to note that some of us wishing for screaming V10s back are not wanting races to be unbearably loud. You can have high revving, exciting sounding engines that are suitably silenced to allow for a lack of earplugs. It's about tone. LIke supercars on the road. Some sound far bet...
