Re: Who will win the Championships?

I cant see anything but a Verstappen win, his been driving better and I was dissapointed with Hamilton on lap 1 at Monza, too many little errors that have bigger consequences. Redbull are a better team than Mercedes, Mercedes would need to up there operations alot. I'm guessing Max takes his engine...

Yeah, not convinced that the sausage kerbs are to blame in this incident. They certainly played a role in turning an incident into an accident. And while I disagree with Mercenary regarding responsibility for the actual accident, I certainly agree that the sausage kerbs have got to go. They serve n...

Re: One of these days a pair of title rivals will kill one another

I had high hopes that Max had calmed down and learned from his previous (aggressive) mistakes but it seems that the old saying is correct; when people are under pressure they revert back to type. Max displayed that yesterday - unwilling to concede and living to fight another day. I think the idea t...

Re: Hamilton/Verstappen Italian GP 2021 Collision Discussion / Poll

Applying the logic of some, looking at Lap 1 – Turn 4/5 (Roggia Chicane) the current application of the rules mean that as Hamilton is alongside he is therefore entitled to hold his line going into the corner. If he doesn’t back out, and stays side by side with Max, they both collide and Hamilton ef...

Re: 2021 Italian Grand Prix Race Thread

There shouldn't even be any arguments. On lap one max closes the door completely at turn 4. Hamilton is forced to back out and it cost him the place and he dropped further back as a result. How they can argue that Hamilton did something wrong and then not expect a penalty for lap 1 is ridiculous but...

Fair enough about the lack of overtaking. The only hope would be with the banked corners and differing lines drivers with a tyre offset may have a bit more opportunity. Think you might see that less with everyone two stopping. And assuming everyone starts on the soft tyres. Whoever leads o after the...

In nearly every interview it has mentioned how overtaking is difficult. I dont know why they dont make all drivers use all 3 different compounds, at least it brings different strategies. The last thing you need for a track like this is a one stopper. Hopefully at the front both Mercedes can keep up...

Albon isn't exactly bad, and with backing from the team perhaps they think pace wise he compares well with others on the grid. He is also good entertainment value in the overtakes department - often bold and effective with some of his moves so that is a big plus. I do wonder if a big part is that Wi...

Re: Ideas on how to avoid a repeat of Spa 2021?

There are a couple of separate issues here, but for me the most important is the fact that officials can make a decision, at any future event, whether or not to run the cars for two-laps behind a safety car and award half points. This gives far to much scope for those making that decision to influen...

Sounds like it could trigger a few moves. Makes me wonder which seat will actually end up being better come 2022 - Williams or Alfa. Alfa seem to have switched almost all development to next years car so guess that is one indication, assuming they get things right.

It also means if the same circumstances occur elsewhere at other circuits you CAN NOT cancel as a precedent has been set. Sets up the prospect of a farcical repeat. Teams need to budget appropriately. If they don't then they pay the penalty. I don't see how this is a different to a multitude of other restrictions that are in place.
