Re: 2023 Singapore Grand Prix Race Thread
I didnt get to see the last 20 due to family coming over, but from what ive read Lewis was alot quicker than George and maybe had a better shot at the win For me, Mercedes should have simply told Lewis to retain his 3rd place after the start. Taken a 5 second if they give it. But give he effectivel...

Re: Poll: What should the FIA do with the DRS system?
Reverse the application. DRS is enabled all the time, and when a car comes up to another car within 1 second in a reverse DRS detection zone, the car is able to turn off DRS to increase downforce so that they can overtake in the corners.

McLaren will finish the season with the 2nd best car . I don't think anyone else is bringing upgrades? Maybe Merc will try something. AM and Ferrari's upgrades didn't work out as planned. Merc I can't even tell if they're better pre or post sidepods. Ferrari and McLaren will easily leapfrog AM due t...

They don't even need a second driver anymore. Max is leading the WCC by himself. Max's average gap to Perez when they have a 1-2 finish (8 races) is 16.875s. Perez's avg gap (only 2 races) to Max is 3.746. Michael Schumacher's avg gap (17 races) to Rubens Barrichello was 7.794s, Barrichello's gap to...

Ocon and Tsunoda showed some grit today. They've upped their ceilings a bit. Lando is tough to judge. He did not beat Sainz in a top 3 car, but showed that he was very quick at times. He now has a top 3 car again and appears to be losing to Piastri. We saw what Max could do with a top 3 car. So is L...

I think all qualifying should be done with softs. That could discourage drivers from doing a final qualifying lap to win back pole, like in the last race.

Or maybe they should put something properly abrasive to cook tyres up, something that can be screwed in for f1 race but removed for MotoGP, proper gritty stuff. Re: What are your thoughts on the F1 2022 regulation changes?
The racing is closer, and I am happy to see less lap 1 crashes than previous years. DRS also helps to prevent crashes overall since you can only defend against it so much until you have to accept that you'll get overtaken. Perhaps there needs to be a max number of DRS usages, enabled in more places ...

Silly from Sargeant, he needs to clock the laps for a super license point which means he can finish one place lower in F2 to get his super license, pushing that hard that you nearly crash and ruining a set of tyres wasn't needed. Ferrari will beat Merc in Brazil, but Merc could be getting a win in AD. Ferrari was at least strong in AD last year so I don't see them losing 2nd in the WCC unless Merc pulls off a 1-2 in AD.

I think the original penalty was quite harsh but the negotiated outcome was fair considering this was basically an experimental year for the cap. Next time however (for year 2022) any breach should result in a loss of championship points.

These are what teams I presume Ric is looking at and their driver contracts: Red Bull Verstappen - 2028 Perez - 2024 Perez is expendable tbh. There's zero loyalty there. I think Perez has done ok, nothing spectacular. Ric has shown maturity in his duel's with Lando, so if RBR really wants two top dr...

For someone who threatens retirement every season, I don't think he'll stick around to get more than 60 wins. I think he will win the next two titles, but the previous 2 will be stripped.

I don't think you should be able to overspend by even $1. I'm sure other teams had the same belief so they purposely kept say $100k under budget just to be sure they didn't breach it.

No, I'm a bit confused about how he suddenly found pace after being threatened to get dropped. So is it a problem with motivation? Is he a streaky driver? If only they would let him test the Ferrari to get a better measurement of his skills.

His season so far reminds me of Schumacher 1995. Leclerc is vastly better than Hill ever was so I'd say it's like 1999 sans Schumacher's injury. Yeah, agreed. 1995 was just Schumacher dominating an inferior driver who was woefully overmatched in the WDC fight, and I don't have that same feeling fro...
