Re: when, and to where, will the Ricciardo move take place?

Although people seem to have this view that the McLaren chassis was as bad previous years as this year there is no actual proof of that. There have been enough changes in the design that they could have lost their way with this chassis and others were much better. I'll admit they could have been bu...

Re: Raikkonen: Should He Stay Or Should He Go?

I would agree with your basic point that Vettel was not in the top two of poor performances compared to a teammate for 2014, but I don't think he was behind all the people you named either. Chilton and Kimi I believe were the two with the worst head-to-head record against their teammates. Respect y...

Re: Raikkonen: Should He Stay Or Should He Go?

Remember that Kimi and Vettel were the 2 drivers who got the most heavy beating from their teammates back in 2014. That honor would probably go to Magnussen, Perez, Chilton and Maldonado before it's Vettel's turn. Magnussen actually (narrowly) beat Button in qualifying (in contrast to the other men...

Re: Driver(s) of the Day - 2018 Austrian Grand Prix

I also think that Vettel's race was not overall great - despite the fine overtaking. He was unusually not inmpressive regarding his race pace vis-à-vis Räikkönen (again by his high standards) - who himself arguably could have done more to challenge Verstappen. Ferrari really should have won this ra...

Vettel lost plenty of places at turn 1 and turn 3 on the first lap. Most of it because he got nudged by Grosjean though. He lost the rear and ran wide at turn 3. Which is not where he lost "plenty" of places. He lost 2 places on that corner  1. Magnussen was ahead and on the inside while enter...

Re: Driver(s) of the Day - 2018 Austrian Grand Prix

I do not think the Ferrari was inferior on race pace based on the long runs in FP and the actual race. Ok, but even then it wasn't better either and given how in current F1 equal cars don't usually overtake that was still not a good showing. Sure he got impeded by Ricciardo but if he hadn't totally...

AMuS is giving other drivers a 10 - that doesn't really support the idea that Hamilton would realistically be in contention for DotD. Same applies to Vettel. Totally agree, I'm thoroughly enjoying F2 this season. The quality of the racing shows what F1 could be if the cars could follow each other more easily. It's not just "following each other more easily". It's a consequence of having a spec car that is the same for everyone, barring minor setup adjus...

Re: I am calling it now Hamilton will win WDC 2018

Hamilton could have sneaked the title if not for 2 risky passes in 2010 in the run in. Admittedly he had the third best car by that point and needed to take risks but he still had 2 collisions and DNFs in the title run in. He also went off the road in Korea, from the lead. He had a good year, but t...

I'm not sure what F1 car could beat it , you'd have to be a brave man to push a modern F1 car as hard as he was pushing that Porsche. What Pirelli tyre could stay in the window across that lap?
