How totally predictable from the Donkey Squad. Related to your ".signature": You’re not in a fight until there’s pressure. Resistance. Overcoming something. Otherwise, it’s just an exhibition. There are similar expressions in the military: "Plans are useless; planning is paramount." "Plans never su...

Re: Who was the better Mercedes driver in 2022?

It looked worrying for Lewis after the first 6 or 7 races of the season. He gradually pegged it back and was the stronger of the two.

Next year will be interesting. George's confidence will be on another level.

Re: 2022 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread

Great lap from Vettel threading it through all those cars. That looked insane from onboard.

Might be hard to get the points to overhaul Alfa Romeo tomorrow though. Brazil really was a faux pas towards the end when Vettel was on the wrong tyres.

If Mercedes and Ferrari closer next season then Max will need all of Sergio's help in the WDC unless he is it himelf too. I can't wait to see Sergio stick two fingers up in that situation

Re: 2022 Brazilian Grand Prix Race Thread

Gutted for Vettel after all his earlier hard work. Wrong tyres at the wrong time

Max's attitude at the end stank

Great drive from Alonso - his attitude towards Ocon seems somewhat vindicated considering Ocon's hardheaded nature

Amazing from Russel - really held his nerve and showed mental strength.

Insane result for KMAg and really sad for Mick at the same time. No way is Mick in F1 for 2023 now, as if we didn't know that already.

As for the race, are we expecting a wet race? The HAAS does look pretty good in the wet.

What happened to Ricciardo? He was nowhere again.
I think they're just gambling with strategies with Ricciardo now.

Vettel is ahead of him in an inferior car.

Vettel and Stroll are teammates next year.

Hamilton's front left didn't look too clever just then.
Alonso will be miles ahead of Stroll next year, so there's very little chance of them colliding unless Alonso will be lapping Stroll.

Stroll typically has a few brain-fade moments in a season.

I used to look forward to wet races but they are such an anti-climax now.

If it is not raining now and the issue is the 'standing' water, why can't they just 'sweep' the track with some heavy duty machinery?

Ferrari must be very hard on its tyres which is probably why they're so good at qualifying.

In the race, even with a supposed tyre advantage - they can't seem to make any impression on the Red Bull/Max.

Verstappen must be called the new tyre whisperer of F1 now.

Alfa are going backwards, like everyone Ferrari powered it seems.

Lucky for Bottas he has such a nice points haul from earlier on in the season. At the current rate I can't see him adding much more to that tally.

Quite crazy, considering they were often stronger than Mercedes earlier in the season.

Vettel cooked it I believe his ultimate speed has disappeared completely now and he cannot qualify like he used to. His race will be severely compromised from here, it's quite hard to overtake cleanly at this track without losing too much time battling from my memory of last year's race. What a shame.

Even if he breaks 13 wins (highly likely, given how long the season is and how comical Ferrari actually are) it still won't be as impressive as Vettel's 9 wins in a row. IMHO.
