Raikkonen has left more than enough room for Verstappen to stay on the track.

Re: Forum opinion on Max / Kimi overtake
We have countless examples from his career to prove that Rosberg doesn't understand the concept of wheel to wheel racing.mikeyg123 wrote:Interesting Nico Rosberg thinks no penalty.

Re: Forum opinion on Max / Kimi overtake
and there were other examples of overtakes also exceeding the track limits it means the precedent had been set. What were these other overtakes? If we're talking precedents then Verstappen's punishment was actually pretty lenient. A drive through/20 second penalty tends to be standard when you over...

Re: 2017 US Grand Prix Race Thread
GingerFurball Looking back this race you see many drivers going off track with four wheels while doing an overtake. Why that was allowed and Max his action on Kimi wasn't is the thing people talk about and want to have this cleared up for future races to come. It's like being in class and the teach...

Re: 2017 US Grand Prix Race Thread
@MDS Excuse my poor written part about the rules, yes this is clear to the drivers. But if they are so clear why the inconsistency? If they get that right and use the rules to enhance the experience for the viewers and to make it clear to the drivers what they can or can't do there is no problem. L...

Re: Button on Hamilton and Alonso
Frankly, Button was lucky to not find himself beaten by 100+ points in 2012. While I agree Lewis was superior in 2012, Button had serious setup issues for a number of races, which severely affected his performance. I don't think the race results are a true reflection of their relative performances ...

Re: 2017 US Grand Prix Race Thread
Comments on Perez vs Ocon, anyone? Perez all bullish over the team radio and then pretty much gets humiliated by Ocon? I have this feeling that Perez is starting to feel a bit insecure over Ocon being so close to him. In the beginning of the season he was better but since Monaco Ocon has outscored ...

Re: 2017 US Grand Prix Race Thread
Pretty open-and-shut penalty, from my point of view. Max couldn't have made the pass without leaving the track, he wasn't forced off track, and he didn't return the position. How is that not a penalty, honestly? Because it goes against the precedent set in 2016 where Verstappen can do whatever he w...

Maybe I need to see more angles but it looked from the outside view he did not have all four off. Looks like he did on the on board but you cant see the rears.

Re: 2017 US Grand Prix Race Thread
Which other driver left the track with all 4 wheels and made a pass? Bottas over Ricardo early in the race and then Bottas also did it to Verstappen - IIRC Vettle did it to Bottas when he squeezed between him and Vandoorne..... PS (added) - NBCSN will reply the race @ 8PM, check it out again then.....

Bottas arguably. Would need to see the onboard to pass proper judgement, but driving off the track at turn 1 vs Ricciardo on lap 2 certainly helped him maintain his position.guardiangr wrote:Did anyone else completed a pass outside the track limits and didn't get penalised at this race? Looked like a slam dunk penalty to me. I agree all the other off track driving should have been punished too though. They've American'd the f*ck out of this  I can't decide if I love this or hate this. I couldn't handle this every time, but it's kinda fun as a one off. I love it. It will be repetitive as chocolate fudge cake to watch on TV but it's a bit of fun and theatre for those actually at the circuit.
