Re: Dennis: Button needs to try harder
Looks like the relationship is getting sour. http://www.wheels24.co.za/News/Button-on-market-after-Dennis-spat-20140704 I think he is gone really, i would be surprised if he stays. the question now is where to? Re: Dennis: Button needs to try harder
I still don't see a problem. i saw the interview at full and i think his response was genuine. as i said even the Boullier said they will struggle and Lewis and Nico are the two most likely to win and even if they don't there is quite a gap of teams till McLaren so all Jenson said was that his win w...

Re: Dennis: Button needs to try harder
I'm not sure why it is thought, that Honda, will have any say whatsoever in whom McLaren chooses to drive for the team. Surely Honda's role is to produce a power unit better than or at the very least equal to Mercedes full stop. I do not see them in any position to dictate a Japanese or any driver ...

Re: Dennis: Button needs to try harder
So, watching the driver's press conference now. Jenson actually tried to make fun of Ron, "I dunno, maybe Ron is practicing to be a motivational speaker" "we shouldn't be laying blame to one person, the whole team must try harder" " i have always given 100% and always will, in the car, the paddock, ...

Re: Dennis: Button needs to try harder
Mclaren need to sort themselves out. If they build a good car, Jenson will bring home the points. If they want someone with more speed in the other car go for it, but they need a consistent points scorer in the other. If they had two Perez's last year they'd have had many less points than they actu...

Re: Dennis: Button needs to try harder
The issue with Jenson is that he does not out perform the car. Most people here is in agreement that if Maclaren give him a good car he will show results (which is true), but that is what you would expect from an average F1 driver. What Maclaren need is a star, that out performs the car in difficul...

Paulsf1fix is right, driving for McLaren under Ron was/is always tough. Lauda reckoned after he'd won the 1984 WDC, Ron got him back throughout 1985, for demanding and getting such a high salary to join McLaren back in 1982! Ron is also prone to driver favouritism: Hakkinen against DC, against Alon...

Re: The Official Jenson Button thread
I think Dolomite has a point, Ron did say " He is a highly paid grand prix driver"
maybe he is just haggling for money, i would be so disappointed if that was the case, I think Jenson is probably one of the least paid WDCs.
Surely less than Alonso, Hamilton and Kimi (probably)

Re: The Official Jenson Button thread
I think Ron is saying Jenson isn't doing as good as he should. Maybe i am wrong but that is how i understood it. He said he expects better and jenson should be beating Kevin, which implies he thinks is not happening and kevin did beat jenson in Austria, and convincingly so.

I think he has a point, Kevin has out qualified Jenson a lot more than he should, even for a highly ranked rookie.
He has outraced him too occasionally

I don't know why everyone is becoming turned off Formula 1 2014. I love the way there are two competitive drivers going head-to-head every race with equal machinery. Even though the driver I support has no chance of winning, I still think it makes for a great spectacle. Having two drivers go wheel ...

teammate tittle fight, or an open championship. Driver POV
so apparently this year we have a 2 horse race to the WDC tittle. Which is often the case in Formula 1, but the particular case we have is a dominant team with equal status drivers who can afford to only focus on each other. I would like to consider how this affects the drivers and thus affects us f...

Re: GP2/GP3/FR3.5 2014 Thread
the confusing one for me is Abt, i thought he was really good in GP3 and yet in GP2 he has done nothing. Vandoorne is in his first GP2 season and was just drawn in last minute and so far has 2 podiums including a win (although no point scoring in between). I really rate this guy, thought McLaren sho...
