I'm not sure what your post would add or detract from my post... They have simply tried to copy all they could see, that is basically what I said. The point I was making is that that doesn't make it "a W10 with a pink paint job". I would expect passing similarities between the two cars, but those h...

Re: Countdown to 2020 Australian Grand Prix...

Oh wow I love this! Last year my main themes were Chaparral and Surtees, which didn't surprise forumers who were there when I regularly posted. This year I wanted to do a whole countdown with painted or hand designed old racing posters, but had no time before the end of last week to do some search....

Likewise, of the minimum of 42 voters (248/6) so many (at least 12) didn't vote for ANY of Clark, Hamilton, Senna, or Fangio. Why divided by 6? You get ten votes each. The minimum number of voters is currently 27 (273/10), which is less than the number of votes received by any of the drivers you me...

I think it's great Clark is topping the poll. I'm not old enough to have seen him (or many of the others to be fair) race, but his record is astonishing when you view it in context. He pretty much broke down or won , whatever and wherever he raced. Makes you wonder what his statistical legacy might...

Re: Who wouldn't have won the title in the 2019 Mercedes?

Looking at the results so far, with 169 votes in, Stroll, Kubica etc are top with 9%?! Does that mean 91% think they would have won the title? Or is the poll not working as it should? 9% is the number of votes they have as a percentage of the total, not that 91% would think they'd win it. The more ...

Re: Who wouldn't have won the title in the 2019 Mercedes?

The question can be condensed to "who is worse than Bottas?" No, I addressed that in the OP. The driver of the second Mercedes will be inferior to the driver replacing Hamilton, the other 18 cars they are up against are the same field faced by Hamilton Bottas in 2019 (so the driver is replaced by a...

I love that we still have teams in F1 that do this kind of thing just for the sake of doing it. They get good marketing out of it, and it's a bit of fun. One question : If you manage to cheat by bypassing the fuel flow sensor, and so get a "much higher" fuel flow rate than allowed, doesn't it imply that your fuel consumption is higher than allowed. I think that, if Ferrari keep their current driver lineup, Lewis will likely still win the championship with or without a car disadvantage. Re: Anyone have any radical ideas to fix F1?

I think it's fair to say we all enjoy a good wet race. Now why is this? I'm guess the lack of grip meaning cars struggling to accelerate and brake, getting all twitchy and the sight of drivers having to demonstrate serious car control. This leads to much more passing than usual. There, we actually ...

I don't see it as an all-time great lap. It was notable that he put a couple of tenths on Vettel who put together a very good lap ...

Not surprised that Hulk didn’t land at Haas. This is a guy who turned down Renault for one year. Why would he go to a weaker team? For him it didn’t make much sense going there. I think he is likely done in f1 unless Ferrari or Redbull miraculously give him a call. Haas keeping Grosjean is a surpri...

Hulkenberg is certainly a more controlled driver than any of the current Haas drivers, but apart from that I don't think he is any faster than the best of them, which I think is Grosjean. A hypothetical question for the people who believe in results first and foremost when considering the all-time greats: If Prost had won all those near-miss WDCs - 1983, 1984, 1988, 1990 - and was the sole 8-time WDC, with Senna only a 1-time WDC from 1991, would that mean he would have to be ranked...
