Re: T-bone accidents in racing?

They are rare but when they happen there is often consequences. One that strongly comes to memory is that which killed Mark Porter during the Bathurst 1000 weekend in 2006. He spun and was stopped sideways across the track at the top of the hill (which is blind and very fast). Another driver could n...

Re: Which team will be strongest at each remaining circuit:

I think Red Bull will be stronger at more tracks than they're getting credit for in this poll.

The Honda is getting better and they've surprised at a few tracks they're not normally strong at.

Conversely, I think Ferrari are getting too much credit. Can't see them winning too much more this year.

Re: Silly Season 2020!

I can't see any changes at Mercedes for 2020, unless Bottas really drops the ball later in the season. If they get a 1-2 in the WDC and take the WCC (which seems more than likely), it will be status quo. Gasly might be the only change in the top 3 teams. He's had a run of bad luck, but his speed is ...

Thought I'd have a look at 2018 for who might have done well out of this: Number of Fastest Laps in 2018 Bottas - 7 Ricciardo - 4 Vettel - 3 Hamilton - 3 Verstappen - 2 Raikkonen - 1 Magnussen - 1 This would have put Bottas in 3rd place in the 2018 WDC, jumping both Verstappen and Raikkonen. Can't see that happening, especially for McLaren. Toro Rosso looked pretty quick in testing (although I'm sure with low fuel, etc). This suggests the Honda engine isn't too far off. Renault are hopefully a bit closer to the top 3, but I reckon we won't see them challenge properly for a couple more y...

I think the Red Bull dominant period has been well and truly surpassed by Mercedes 2014-18 run. Weren’t there 7 different winners from 5 different teams in the first 7 races in 2012? I have to agree with Eddie on his comments. This may be one of the least exciting periods in F1 history. Quiet cars, overly dominant teams and not much proper action. Vettel is overrated - he could drive a blown diffuser like no one else but he’s been mediocre since. Hamilton is good, but Schumacher...

I think it takes more than raw single lap or wet pace to be the “best” driver. It’s obviously the top factor, but Max has some big weaknesses.
