Re: Williams in 2018

Looking through the field, there isn't really much choice! Most of the best talent are in top teams and unlikely to move on. It really depends what happens with Kimi and Bottas. If Kimi is moved out of Ferrari he will probably want a semi-competitive drive and that would be Williams. If that happens...

Re: Is Bottas really fast enough to go up against Hamilton?

Bottas hasn't really had stand-out "wow" performances, but then again the Williams hasn't been good enough to allow that. In 2014 when the Ws were competitive he was often exploiting it. But then the same is true for Hamilton. He obviously has exploited the Mercedes speed and did so at McLaren when ...

Re: Standing starts after SC's for 2017

An absolutely crazy rule. The Virtual Safety Car was introduced to prevent drivers gaining an advantage (or driving quickly in poor conditions to gain such an advantage). Yet here we are with a rule that throws that away. It will ruin the flow of the races and is a blatant and artificial entertainme...

Re: Revisiting 'Medals'...

The current points system works quite well in my opinion. The fact that Nico had to finish on the podium to win either means the championship was quite close, or the points gap between the podium and the minor placings is sufficiently large. Lewis only won one more race than Nico (10-9), it's not as...

Lewis complained about his car after this season but I think he has it backwards. The Mercedes has been a gift to Lewis and Nico, dominating like never before. If Lewis was in a Toro Rosso or a Sauber would he have even been in with a shot? If he was up against two equally competitive Red Bulls woul...

Likewise, I remember turning on the Malaysian MotoGP race expecting to see and hear bikes racing around, but there was silence and solemn words from the commentators. It was obvious something bad had happened but not who, how or to what extent. The replays explained it all and were hard to watch. RIP

Interesting... It is possible that, without the Red Bull YDP, Vettel would have ended up at another team during the years when Red Bull had a great car (2010-2013). Here's how i see it: 1. Hamilton got a better run than Rosberg on the straight (due to better tyres probably) 2. Hamilton went up the outside of Rosberg 3. They both braked hard, Hamilton trying to position for a pass at the next turn and Rosberg trying to stave off the threat 4. Rosberg's late brak...

Sometimes car setup makes a huge difference to wet pace. As soon as the temperature is gone from the tyres, it's like driving on ice and there is no feel at all.
