Re: Cockpit Canopies
If people think sudden deceleration was the cause of the injury let's take into consideration David Purley who crashed during pre-qualifying at Silverstone when his throttle stuck open. He went into a wall doing 108mph and stopped in less than 66cm which resulted in a 180G load. He made a full recov...

Re: What do you think about this Alonso´s press conference?
Ferrari were found guilty of breaking the no team order rules and were fined €100000. They didn't appeal against it thus accepting guilt. Thus this brings me on to Lewis Hamilton and McLaren in Australia 2009, Lewis was told by the team to lie about what happened and was found out, he was then disqu...

Fair play to Alonso, he handled it well. Completely unfair to be put in that position because the team cheated & it should have been Domenicali or LdM answering those questions. (even though they lied through their teeth too)

I'm 100% sure that come the 1st race of 2015, Ferrari will have built Alonso a car that is capable of winning the WDC & WCC. Then the other teams will turn up & it will be back to the drawing board for the 2016 car.

Well I think Mercedes are off the table unless things go really south with Hamilton and leaves. So realistically, the only possible seat will be at McLaren, it might be worth the punt if Alonso can forget the past. Either that or wait till Ferrari to produce a winning car, I'm sure sometime ago Ferr...

As long as Williams maintain their momentum and Massa doesn't crash in to anything else (albeit his last crash wasn't his fault) then I think they have Ferrari beat.

The way things are going, it looks likely Williams will pass Ferrari in the WCC in Germany.

From his own point of view? Sure, no harm in considering. Yes, from his point of view. He has gone on record saying that he want Titles not respect. Currently, it's not looking likely he's going to get many titles with Ferrari. Senna had no qualms in jumping ship to go to the best team so that he c...

Alonso. Should he consider leaving Ferrari.
I know this is yet another Alonso thread (sorry), but I thought it warranted its own poll. Most consider Alonso to be one of the best drivers on the grid, however, after this year it will be 8 years since his last WDC. One of, if not the main reason for not winning the WDC since 2010 is Ferrari. The...

1993 was the last year that Ferrari went a whole season without a win.

I watched the 2012 Monco F1 hightlights on the BBC last night & I had absolute no memory of the race. I think the only overtakes were in the pitlane & I think that was Hamilton dropping places to Alonso & Vettel.
However, I found 2010, 2011 & 2013 races pretty entertaining.

One unscientific observation about this whole topic is; when you listen to Red Bull, they concede they are down on power and performance but fully expect to claw back - as do most of the fans. With Ferrari, they/we conceded they are down on power and performance but are almost resigned to be stuck ...

Re: Ricciardo given a 10 place grid penalty for Bahrain!
Isnt it in the rules now that is you have a grid penalty you carry over any 'left over' penalty position into the next race? So if Ricciardo qualifies 15, he drops 7 places to 22 but still has 3 penalty places to incur, therefore, these places are then taken at the next race? Is this right? Or does ...

So, I want to be the Devils advocate here, but when Vettal disobeys team orders he's at fault and the whole F1 community joins together to chastise him and to point out that's his selfish and not a team player. When Ferrari instigate team orders is because no driver is bigger than the team and the d...

I think it would be ironic (and also hilarious) if Vettel wins the WDC in the final race because of the double points rule. I think the only reason the FIA came up with this stupid rule is to give another driver other than Vettel a chance of winning the WDC in the final race. So for Vettel to win fr...
