It's going to be my first time attending a race outside of Asia and this is what happens.
I fear a cancellation as Canada is not Bahrain. The Bahrain government simply imposed tough measures. I don't see the Canadian police doing that sort of thing. Hopefully, it all works out.

Re: The Monaco Grand Prix Race Thread
Perhaps the two compound tyre rule should not be applied to Monaco. Teams have to only use one compound- the supersofts.
Since no overtaking can take place on the track, the race needs more pitstops to allow overtaking through the stops.

Re: Hill gets it wrong/Season is not that unpredictable
It's actually very predictable, at least who the winner will be. All pole sitters have won this year, except Alonso in Sepang, which rained. Even Maldonado lost P1 after the first corner, he still took the win. For Monaco, my guess is it won't be the pole sitter if it rains. What's the weather forec...

Lewis. He's the fastest alongside Alonso, who doesn't have the fastest car.
Of course, barring any Mclaren hiccups.

just wondering if a modern day F1 car can take this sort of punishment.

i can only think of Sutil at the moment. even then, without testing,he may struggle.
so while i think Massa should be fired now, there's just no one unless some of trade with Perez can take place.

Rosberg is probably taking lessons on weaving from Schumi. He's learning well judging from today's race. but then again, if he wants to emulate the 7 time wdc, he needs some of these tactics.

Re: Kimi - lacking killer instinct?
i thought kimi could have stretch a bit on his tyres and pit later than Seb for the final stop as he was on the harder tyres. He seemed to lose quite a bit of time in the early part of his last stint on the softs. maybe another strategy error? but take nothing from Kimi. After a few races and he's a...

Re: Winning the WDC without winning a single race, possible?
what's more likely is that a driver wins the WDC even without winning the most races. however, i think no one would mind winning the WDC, even without winning a single race. The points system is still flawed. The winner should get double that of the runner up in terms of points. This means 36 points...

bernie would do well to simply remove DRS. it's artificial and some drivers don't even bother to defend against it. The pirelli tyres are good enough for the entertainment.

Age is not a factor. Results are! Only thing is why want to risk your life racing when you've got everything, nice family, kids etc? That's the only reason I feel Schumi should stop. Motorsport is not foolproof no matter how much safety standards have improved.

I think it's important to understand that PR is part of an F1 driver's job, whether he likes it or not. I do agree that Kimi could do a little better in this aspect. Very few are in as fortunate a position as him and sometimes, all these superstars can do is give a little more info, more time, unles...

He maybe gets along with Jenson pretty well so far... But when the title is on the line...that wont be the case.. Indeed, I think it may get a bit ugly this season. If Mclaren end up remaining the class of the field, with Jenson and Lewis trading blows, well, it will get ugly, and quickly ;) BRING ...

i can't recall when was the last time two top drivers got along, with one winning the WDC of course. Schumi and Rubens? If you consider Rubens regular 2nd places that made him the 2nd best driver on the grid.AravJ wrote:I actually like to way they get along. Its good for team spirit.

It's sad to see Massa in this state, I think it's a combination of the physical effects of his accident and I think he has been destroyed psychologically ever since Hockenheim 2010, which was the first flash I saw of the old Massa. First thing is first, I actually think Ferrari should replace him m...

I think Lewis's "grounded teenager" face on the podium was probably more about Vettel being ahead of him rather than Jenson winning. imo, that's the problem. He doesn't hate JB enough. JB thus has the mental edge over Lewis as he's the more PR guy in Mclaren. My view is based on the way he races Button. i suppose if the car is fast, there's no reason to take a pay driver. Williams perhaps thought their car was still a backend car and decided to go for Senna's money when Sutil was the obvious choice. Anyway, i foresee Sutil in the Merc if Schumi quits next year.

Considering where Williams has been in the last few seasons, a 6th place would be a great bonus. I suppose some blame lie with the team for not telling Maldo to ease off and secure the points. It's definitely the more sensible thing to do. At least, they can take heart the car is quick.

it's only the first race but testing times show that both drivers are quite equal. I wonder if Kimi's engineer didn't get it right as he didn't do as many laps as Romain.
