I'm way off the top third of entrants, hence my crazy choices for this race. Might as well try something crazy 8O

Catherine and Brendon, I've been a member of this forum for over 13 years now and very rarely post (less than 20 posts in that time) but I do read an awful lot. I have had tears welling up in my eyes reading through this thread, your dad will certainly be greatly missed by many forum members. Every ...

Re: Obligatory Favorite Driver

I've always supported Williams as a team first and drivers second, after whichever drivers Williams has at that point in time. It's been that way since the early/mid 80s when I first started watching F1 with my older cousin that lived just up the road from Williams' factory. After that I usually sup...

Re: Revisiting 'Medals'...

I much, much prefer the current system. Maybe if you want to make winning more important perhaps re-introduce the traditional system in F1 of dropping scores. Best 15 results from 20 races or something. Been saying to friends who follow F1 for a while now that we should go back to the time that NOT...

Although Jody's comment is very funny, I'm sure a number of UK forum members will remember the time he commentated alongside Murray Walker for the BBC many years ago - it wasn't pretty!

Re: The greatest hustle you've seen in F1?

Silverstone 1987? Piquet takes off in the Williams after passing a quick-starting Prost. Mansell follows his team-mate but, complaining of vibration, is eventually called in to change tyres. Sets off after Piquet with 28 laps to close a 30-second deficit (or was it 30 laps / 28 seconds?). Continuou...

Re: Custom Driver Numbers To Make a Return

I kind of agree wth the poster above that said the teams should keep the "historic" numbers that they had back in the "good ole days".

Would prefer for numbers to stay with the teams rather than them being allocated to particular drivers myself.

Sniff petrol is great, Their "stop the c*ck" campaign to try and get rid of James Allen a few year ago was hilarious!

Re: Heard This A Couple Of Times Now

As it is in most peoples mind it's remembered as the year he tried and failed to ram Villeneuve off the road in a desperate bid to win another championship. Yup, that's exactly how I remember it. Thinking at the time that he'd tried to do to Villeneuve what he did to Hill three years before and so ...

Re: Williams Intrested in Ross Brawn If He is avaliable.

Where has the mention of Pat Fry come from? It's Pat Symonds at Williams, not Pat Fry. Or have I completely missed something and he's leaving Ferrari and joining Williams now? as a Williams supporter since the 80s I'd love to see Ross Brawn back at Team Willy, but I think as many others have stated ...

I've been here over 10 years, and posted five times! Although to be fair I did have a few more posts on the "old" forum. But never that many to be honest. Much more of a lurker than a poster, and even more so now than a few years ago. It does seem sometimes that a large percentage of the u...

Re: Hamilton: Vettel making fans fall asleep in front of TV

This is nothing like the Schumacher years, there was nearly no overtaking down the field in those years so the fact the race was won from pole to flag mattered more. Now we have great close battles down the field there is actually something to watch Sorry if this has been said a number of times alr...

Re: Sky Sports F1 streaming day passes now available.

I bit the bullet and upgraded to entertainments HD package just before last weekend. It's costing me an extra £5 for 6 months then it goes up to £10.25 for the remaining 6 months. So just over £90 extra for basically one channel as I'm not really bothered about the rest of the stuff you get in HD. L...
