Carlos Sainz might take the win today. He could pass both Vettel and Ocon.

Re: Will Hamilton reach his century of wins in 2021?
Right more on topic I believe the title should be changed from Will to When will. :) Don’t jinx it ;) I don’t think it’ll be in Hungary though, that should suit Red Bull more and perhaps even Ferrari after their strong form in Monaco. After today's qualifying I would say that Max is going to have t...

Re: Is Ricciardo done?
Fate can be a funny thing. If Max Verstappen had never laced up a pair of driving boots, then Daniel Ricciardo might still be at Red Bull, widely regarded as an absolute top tier talent that has just never quite had the equipment capable of beating Hamilton and Mercedes. When a driver is struggling...

Lewis more than a half second ahead of Max.
Have to wonder what Max is going to try tomorrow on the softs. They were hard pressed to last a full lap at flat out today.

Re: Official Valtteri Bottas Thread
I thought that Valtteri put in a uniquely poor showing today at the 2021 British Grand Prix. He started off by letting both Charles and Lando by at the start. He took way too long to repass Lando and then spent the rest of the race having nothing for Charles in the Ferrari. When Lewis was taken down...

Re: Inconsistent penalties (or lack of them) on first lap incidents
The 10 second penalty that Lewis got for the first lap incident seems very much in line with the other penalties that the FIA and the stewards have been handing out this year. The thing is, I think hamilton is the first one to get a penalty in the first lap in the last couple of years (excluding fa...

Everyone wants to see side by side, elbows out racing and that's what we had on lap 1. Sooner or later someone was going to lose it.
Now we have a whole bunch of folks complaining that we had a great battle and their favorite lost.

Re: 2021 British Grand Prix FP & Qualy/Sprint Thread
Freddy and Kimi both benefited from the "Sprint Race" by improving their grid positions. Checo pulled a bonehead move and a dangerous re-entry. and cost himself about 15 grid positions for tomorrow. Other than that it was sort of a non-event for me. I am not a fan of the Sprint Race idea for F1 even...

I thought Ricciardo did a very good job today from a miserable starting spot.

I started out thinking that Ricciardo was the most disappointing driver this year. After the French GP I have to revise my vote and say Botttas is the most disappointing driver. Valtteri's head is just getting into a worse and worse place. Still Ricciardo even on his best day today he's still slowe...

The only pic that was not an easy choice for me was Norris over Ricciardo. I gave it to Lando but I think that Daniel is starting to get comfortable in the McLaren and I don't think that Lando will be able to just run away from Daniel like he has most of this year. With a much stronger Daniel and a ...

Re: Tyre failure or over run tyre.
Remember in 2018 when Valtteri Bottas was leading in Baku by over a second and had a puncture on the main straight not so far from where Max and Lance had their trouble. Makes me wonder what it might be about that part of the track that seems to foster tire failure.

Re: How to solve a problem like Monaco...
My first instinct to solving the Monaco problem is to reduce the size of the cars to what they were about 30 years ago.

Reduce both the width and the length.

Hard for me to argue with the three guys on the podium. None of then had a gimme race. Verstappen, Sainz, & Norris. Honorable mention to Vettel. It's a real shame that we didn't get to see what the last round of fast laps would have produced.
Leclerc was obviously fast all weekend so far but he is also the one who brought out the red flag at the height of Q3.
