Re: For all you loud engine lovers
Hopefully everyone here is smart enough to protect their hearing, tinnitus is a real mother effer. Very smart advice. I have a nasty case of tinnitus, but not from F1. Rather it's from 200 or more rock concerts i went to while growing up. I wish I knew then what I know now. I always, ALWAYS wore ea...

Re: Looks like Honda sorted their Indycars (lots more HP), F
Is the Honda Indy Car engine made in Japan or the US? If the US, then the chances that this improvement means good things for F1 is limited at best.

Re: For all you loud engine lovers
Formula 1 should always look to position itself at the cutting edge of technology. Going back to V8 or V10 engines doesn't fit in with that image. You dont think getting a V-10 engine to rev to nearly 20,000 RPM's for 2 hours and not blowing up isn't cutting edge technology? I've got news for you, ...

Some of the best concerts I've ever been to have been ear shatteringly loud.moby wrote:I dont know why but I thought of music venues.
Where there is a good band, there is good sound.
Where the band is anot very good, they crank it up as far as they can to try and compensate

Re: For all you loud engine lovers
There will always be opportunities for you to listen to extremely loud engines Really? Where can one watch road racing and hear sounds like the old V-10's and V-8s? I have never once heard anything remotely the same as this at any form of racing. Your argument of 'if it's too loud, just don't go' a...

Re: The future of Alonso
Honestly I think some posters in this forum have a much more inflated sense of Alonso's value on the market than anyone in F1. He is a great driver without question but ultimately, the teams that he would really want to go to already have their bases covered in the driver department and are essenti...

Re: McLaren, Honda, 2018
I think they will be. Honda are bound to get it right at some point. I'm not talking about being the dominant force but you know, respectable and competitive relative to the top dogs. There's unlimited development throughout the season so there's a glimmer of hope for 2018. But yea, it's pretty dir...

Re: McLaren, Honda, 2018
Yes, no other option. Mercedes was very clear that they are now at their limit and cant supply any more teams with engines. Renault might be their only other option as Ferrari wont sell their engines to McLaren of all teams. But with TR joining Renault camp, even they are at their capacity. The onl...

Re: McLaren, Honda, 2018
The proper question is will McLaren survive the Honda partnership. Sadly, I think not. McLaren is truly in a death spiral and if they have another disastrous season with Honda powering their cars, I just can't see them surviving. I truly hope that Honda can finally find a way to produce an engine th...

Re: Red Bull query Oil burning rules
The fact that Mercedes denied they were burning oil deliberately in their engines then turned around and asked for the FIA to mandate a maximum fuel burn over a race period to 5L is what makes me almost certain that they are indeed doing it... That's massive! Way back in 2014 Ricciardo was disquali...

Re: Is Kimi Raikkonnen the dark horse for 2017?
I remember a thread similar to this assessing Kimi's chances for 2014. He was supposed to take it to Alonso and it was going to be a battle royale for the ages as they fought for the Championship. What happened for Ferrari and especially Kimi afterwards was very sad. Perhaps we should wait for at l...

Re: Red Bull query Oil burning rules
Formula One is so competitive that even a one percent gain in performance can spell the difference between a win and not being on the podium. And thus each team attempt to find any way to improve performance, even temporarily. We saw that last year when Mercedes got funny about their tire pressures...

Re: McLaren MCL32 Unveiled!
from what i've seen all the talk is about reliability with the honda engine. I'd rather they have a good engine and lot's of engine blows, rather than the other way around. Good point. It would be one thing if the Honda engine were an absolute beast and handily thrashing the field and then blowing ...
