Got a virtual christmas get together with some friends this afternoon so results won't be straight after the race. All being well they'll be done today.
It's nice to keep you all in suspense with the private predictions though
Any idea why Mercedes are 0.5 slower than last year? Has that happened so far this season? I don’t think it has no, Mercedes have usually been quicker when I’ve seen the comparisons. I could be wrong as there hasn’t been many of the same tracks for a while (Bahrain 1 the exception) but Red Bull wer...
You're boring. Then again, so am I. Probably a generational thing coupled with the advent of social media. I prefer to have a driver identify with a specific helmet design but that's just me. Plus, having said that, I really liked Lando Norris' helmet used (at Silverstone?) designed by a six-year o...
A few years ago they bought in a regulation permitting a one change for one event per season. Had that since changed? I do really like Bottas is new design he is running the weekend Yes, since when did this rule change? I agree the continuing smorgasborg of Norris helmets is over the top. I believe...
Obviously so hard to say with the 2022 regulations. The smart money is probably on Russell as he’ll probably be in a Mercedes at some point. Outside shout: Vettel in the Aston Martin. Question to those who think Leclerc. Do you think Ferrari will be able to build a championship winning car with the...

This myth often gets repeated. Hamilton had I believe one test in 2005, three in 2006 and the 2007 pre season. Indeed. This is a classic case of people repeating something with the hope that if they say it often enough it will simply be believed. The same people are usually unable to provide any ac...
Checo will surely have a higher engine mode for the race, and presumably won't bother running more than Q1 (to get 19th to be on the correct side of the grid, if my thinking is right) so he'll have a bit more grunt and a vast selection of tyres come Sunday. Ah yes, good point in that he should in t...
Question: as we may not know who is driving a Mercedes by the time FP1 starts, can we submit the driver as Hamilton but if Russell replaces him, then we’ll get the points? Same for Williams in the qualy predictions, submit as Russell but if it’s Aitken we get the points? This can be ignored, Hamilt...
AMuS are claiming Hamilton has tested negative in his latest Covid test. He can fly to Abu Dhabi tomorrow but will have to again take a test tomorrow before being allowed inside the paddock. He can only sit in the Mercedes car on Saturday onwards. Russell may be allowed to run in FP1 & 2 & then he ...
https://twitter.com/adamcooperf1/status/1337035389618556928?s=21 Russell saying that if Hamilton tests negative then Hamilton will be driving. I think unless the test result is here by tonight I think they should just make the decision that Russell is in Merc and Aitken is in the Williams for the we...

Possibly the wrong thread but how were Bottas’ tyres in such bad condition? They were younger than Perez, Stroll and Ocon’s I think. 2 reasons: 1. They went through an additional heat cycle during the pits, and the Pirellis are notoriously fickle. 2. Well, Bottas. What do you mean by an additional ...

I think it’s a bit harsh on Norris to put him in this group - I know he’s from a wealthy background but he clearly had the talent in my opinion. When did McLaren take him under their wing?
Nice thread. I saw all these and for me it's between Hamilton and Russel. Hamilton had by far the better teammate to go up against, but I think Russell had to deal with a lot more in the race. And that pass on Bottas was absolutely stunning. How was it different from what Sainz did in a weaker car?...
I think in the past we'd see a lot less of drivers choosing their number for clever marketing reasons (Val77eri Bottas, GR/63, etc.) and more sentimental reasons that are impossible to guess, such as your number from your first karting season, your lucky number, etc. In short, while I think the thr...
Russel has already waited one year too long... Bottas has been underperforming for years now including having a year with ZERO wins driving the Merc!! If i were Redbull I would poach Russell right out of Totto's nose and create a mega driver lineup..The constructors atleast won't be a given next ye...

I know they technically don't have to decide until 5 minutes before qualifying but that seems a bit daft for all involved. Well, that would be interesting to see. Hamilton without any practice time? Wonderful if he resumes on Pole, or doesn't... starting from 6th or 7th, then drives through the fie...
Toto Wolff has said (via Mercedes twitter) that Hamilton's condition is improving but they won't know until closer to the time if he'll be driving. I assume they'll need to make a decision before Friday morning* so Russell can get the practice in (and by extension Aitken/Williams). *I know they tech...
94 user_id=296676] Buemi and Vips d[/list]riving for Red Bull next week too. Do Red Bull have any intention of Buemi ever driving for them/AT again? But Sainz (and Vettel I assume) aren’t allowed too, because they’ve driven an F1 car this year I believe. Kubica therefore can drive a car. It’s becom...

This half arsed "sorry that I got caught" type of apology is not really cutting it for me. Consensual or not, it's just bad taste to post a video like that on social media. I'm frankly more worried about his driving next year, he's shaping up to become the new Maldonado. The ‘I have to hold myself ...
Completely off topic but found this when I was looking on Wikipedia about who owns Red Bull. interestingly (or maybe not) but the guy from Thailand who owns 51% of Red Bull, his son is wanted by Interpol.
