Re: 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix Race Thread
It was a giant bee last time...what's it this time? This time a particularly violent fart unsettled the balance of his car. But he'll never actually go so low as to admit this. If my girlfriend read this she’d say this is a reason why I’ll never make it as a Formula 1 driver. The missing talent mig...

Re: Silly Season 2021
Before we get excited on what it says on Instagram profiles, are we sure it ever said Williams/Mercedes on there before? Just done a quick look and not all the drivers have their team in their profile, Hamilton and Ricciardo for example. I remember there was a discussion on here about Ocon’s twitter...

Re: POLL: The six additional circuits
I think all in all what the different circuits displayed was just how boring and samey the circuits we use have become. Most have such a similar feel and use a mix of the same sort of corners. Completely agree with this bit. Variety is what made this season so good. Yes very good point

Re: How will Russell perform against Bottas?
Bottas is actually doing an Albon just the dominance of the Mercedes has masked it, hence why if he gets swallowed on the first lap he never recovers. I think very few will think Bottas is performing as bad as albon. Most of Bottas's very negative results have been down to very bad luck. Albon is t...

Re: How will Russell perform against Bottas?
It wouldn’t completely offset, they would have to pay Bottas his 2021 wages (maybe more for break of contract) and then pay Williams to break George’s contract. Williams demanded $12 million to break Bottas’ contact back in 2017 and Mercedes paid it. I imagine George would be that amount or more. S...

POLL: The six additional circuits
The 2021 F1 season had six circuits added to the calendar following the delayed start to the season. Which of them would you like to see make a return in the future? I personally would like to see F1 race at Portimao and Nurburgring again. Mugello, Imola and Istanbul Park I'm happy for us not to rac...

Re: CarlPotter's Top Three Championship 2020
Sakhir Grand Prix Sergio Perez won the Sakhir Grand Prix ahead of Esteban Ocon and Lance Stroll, as George Russell suffered a heartbreaking end to the race. Russell took the lead at the start ahead of Valtteri Bottas but the safety car was soon out as Perez and Charles Leclerc collided at turn four...

Re: PF1 Forum teammate wars vote: Sakhir 2020
Russell over Bottas, although Bottas wasn't quite as bad as he looked - he was catching Russell when disaster struck. Vettel over Leclerc: Slow, undramatic drive to a non-points finish, or an ace qualifying lap followed by lap lap 1 brain fade? At least Vettel's poor performance didn't affect anyon...

Best sector times has Bottas ahead by 0.092. Sector 1: 0.088 to Bottas Sector 2: 0.021 to Bottas Sector 3: -0.017 to Russell Didn't Bottas go purple in the third sector in his final attempt ( which was slower in total, though)? I meant best times when you add up each drivers best sectors. I think B...

Re: 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix Race Thread
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Im8bokJ1JSw&ab_channel=Exziz I think as one of the comments to this video says, this has to be one of the longest, most pointless pit stops made in recent years. 30 seconds and are they actually putting Bottas back onto the same tyres he drove in with? All that stand...

It was up to 8.6 when Bottas came out the pits. 7.2 when the VSC was deployed. 5.5 at the end of VSC. Bottas gained 1.7 seconds in VSC. When the full SC came it was 4.5 seconds. Bottas took 4.1 seconds out of the lead. 2.4 pace, 1.7 VSC. Thanks for looking that up  how many racing laps was...

Shout out to Ocon too, first podium and gradually improving over the season. Yea I really think the more recent races he's been getting ever closer to ricciardo. His speed isn't quite there, but i think he's possibly made less mistakes recently. He also could well have done well in the wet recently...

Re: 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix Race Thread
Leclerc gets a 3-place grid penalty for Abu Dhabi. TBH he's needed disciplining for a while. He needs to cool down just a little bit. Other than that, outstanding talent and brilliant for F1, of course. Maybe I'm filled with red mist for what was potentially an exciting race ruined, but it's some o...

A great race in the end and a great performance from Russell, so impressive to step in and match Bottas. The translation of Toto's Sky Germany interview. Toto Wolff when asked about the performance of Bottas today: "I need to talk with him and his crew but yeah he did not shine today." Brutal. 20,000 fine for Mercedes for the Russell tyre mix up. Bottas long stop, radio issue and coming in the lap after to sort it out mitigating factors which mean no disqualification.

Come on, own up. Who voted for Bottas? Not that I’d vote for him but being fair, he was only 4 seconds behind Russell and closing him down from 8, before the sh*t hit the fan with Aitken. Without that it’s not inconceivable that he could have caught and overhauled him. What happened after, being st...

Cracking racing once again. I’m not sure what to make of Mick TBH; in both F3 and F2 he’s been thoroughly average for the first season and a half, then suddenly come on strong in the second half of his final season. On the one hand, you can argue he’s developing very well and there is clear improve...
