Re: Could Red Bull have been faster than Mercedes since Turkey?
If we update the results, to give Max wins in the races where he had incidents (Imola, Turkey and Sakhir) then the WDC looks like this: Hamilton: 333 (-14) / 9 wins (-2) Verstappen: 281 (+67) / 5 wins (+3) Bottas: 218 (-5) / 2 wins (==) Russell: 1 (-1) / 0 wins(==) Hamilton would have been 88 point...

Re: How will Russell perform against Bottas?
If you look at Bottas latest statement on F1 it really seems like going up against Lewis for the last few years has completely destroyed him mentally. I'm not surprised by his poor performance this race, since the WDC went he just seems like there's no fight left in him at this stage. He needs a ful...

Re: Why haven't Red Bull signed Perez?
For me 3 reasons, 1. Admitting the junior driver programmer has failed is a huge thing for them, but I do think doing this would free them up for options now and in the future. Especially if it comes to a close battle for the WCC where you need proven 1 and 2 drivers to be close. 2. Is the Thai inve...

Re: How fast is Verstappen relative to Hamilton? (THREAD SPL
What makes Verstappen’s 2017 and 2018 special is not only that he was faster than Ricciardo, but the gap he had over Ricciardo. His average gap over Ricciardo was almost 2 tenths in clean qualifying sessions. That’s the same gap Hamilton has over Bottas, and double the gap Hamilton had over Rosberg...

Re: How fast is Verstappen relative to Hamilton? (THREAD SPL
I've read through this thread and am honestly scratching my head about the data being used to come up with this imaginary 2 tenths and how the conclusions are being reached. It would probably be easier to look at the difference in the cars ability to do a lap and then attribute a time against that. ...

Out of the current field i'd like to see Verstappen, Vettel, Leclerc and Riccardo. I voted for Verstappen as everyone says he's in the same league as Hamilton, that would be a powder keg waiting to go off.
I honestly feel though even Verstappen would come off second best.

In regards to the thread his behaviour while a little childish was acceptable in my opinion as it shows he still has passion for what he is doing.

i'm not sure Bottas is done yet, even with a poor showing in Canada he still seems to be on it.
If anything else the more pressure on him the more dangerous he will become to LH. He will start taking serious risks on track for overtakes etc.
It will be interesting to see.

I think Mercs design philosophy is based on the car running at the front and when it doesn't the engine can compensate and drag them up. Has Ferrari adopted the short wheel base and high rake similar to Red Bull? This could be one of the avenues that isn't working out for them. Mercs car has the lowest of all rake as well as the long wheel base and that is part of their design philosophy. I remember at the last test they tried a high...

Max caused that crash not Ocon.
The only reason there is an argument about it is because of the circumstance around their respective positions.
If it was an overtake for a real position gain the FIA would have punished Max for not leaving enough/any room.
