Re: Official MotoGP thread
Congrats Jorge Lorenzo. Best Yamaha rider this year, with or without Marc Marquez. Rossi retirement announcement coming soon? He has 1 year left on his contract plus Rossi lives to race I meant retirement from MotoGP. He could go to WSBK and wipe the floor with the rest of the field. There he will ...

Re: Official MotoGP thread
The 'Marquez didn't try to pass Lorenzo' rhetoric seems a little ridiculous given how riders were jumping out of the way to let Rossi through. Danilo Petrucci drove completely off the track to let him through (losing a place to Smith in the process) I think you could argue that Marquez could have r...

Marquez playing rear gunner for Lorenzo. He clearly had the pace but didn't try even 1 pass. His defence against his team mate showed what this was all about. Lewis 2007. Brilliant debut season While it was a superb debut season, yet to lead the championship for most of the year and bottle it at the crucial moment means I can't consider it a "best runner up" season... In what way did he "bottle it"? China was more down to the teams poor judgement than Ha...

Re: Lotus Confirms Palmer for 2016! Implications on Renault?
Lots of negativity here. To be fair to Palmer, he improved a lot during his time in GP2 and was driving to a high level in his championship year. Nasr got a seat before him without winning the championship. Lotus will know a lot more about where he sits ability wise than most of us. I'm happy the GP...

The armchair experts who believe Bottas should be checking his mirrors whilst cornering at high speed and then somehow jumping out of the way of Kimi are in a massive minority here.
I'm with the stewards and ex racing drivers who actually know a little more than most of us.

But if he really thinks that Rosberg is on a level with Alonso, that is one mighty compliment he's paying. Seems like one mighty slight to Alonso, honestly. Re: Driver(s) of the Day - 2015 Japanese Grand Prix
Given that Merc have said that Rosberg's engine was down on power at the start which is what allowed Lewis to get close enough to run him off the road, seems like you'd have to have a pretty limited understanding of the sport to award him driver of the day - screwed up his qualy lap badly (still go...

Re: Did Lewis Force Nico off the Track at Suzuka?
From everything I've seen it was a hard but fair move. Hamilton would have had to compromise his own corner speed too much to not have run out wide across the line Nico committed to. At the start of a race I doubt anyone would have backed off and let Nico have the corner. Could be interesting to see...

Voted Hamilton, Hulkenberg and Verstappen. Hamilton for his great start and aggressive move on Nico. Also the fact he stuck a lap in a whole second faster than Nico when both were pushing to the max after the 2nd pit stop showed me all i needed to know about how much he had in hand. Hulkenberg for a...

Re: Driver(s) of the Day - 2015 Italian Grand Prix
The Kimi votes are a bit of a head-scratcher. He went backwards in the big picture. Overtaking slower cars at Monza isn't exactly a miraculous feat. Kimi threw away a podium within the first 2 seconds of the race. Depends on the reason for the stall at the start. I think he drove very well overall ...

Vettel was only up in third because he was trying to do a one stop strategy. Had he done the same as everyone else he would have been back down in the Perez/Massa/Kimi/VMax fight which wouldn't really have been that special.
