Re: Albon in, Gasly out

Also looking at their current junior programme, nobody is anywhere near the step up. Juri Vips is currently in F3 and second in the standings, but should he progress we're looking at 2021/22 at the earliest. Red Bull don't have much to fall back on, hence the Kvyat recall for this season. No Juri V...

Re: Silly Season 2020!

That would be one hell of a risk possible leaving yourself without a seat for 2020? Who was the last non-Red Bull-backed driver to race for them? Was it Webber? If I were Horner, I'd go for a proven quantity and sign Alonso for 2020 on a one year deal, irrespective of his history with Honda. If the...

Button's first win in 2006 is legendary commentating  During the Hamilton early-years he tended to get a little over-exuberant, but overall he was a brilliant commentator. Who remembers Legard? These days (in the UK) we have the choice of two: Crofty or Ben Edwards. I much prefer Edward...

Take last weekend, for example. Hamilton was hunting down Max at a rate of knots and we all knew that once he was in DRS range then it was all over. But what if Lewis had already used all of his DRS attempts and still couldn't get past? I recall the RBR pit wall telling Max he had full power for th...

Re: Silly Season 2020!

Personally I don't see the issue with promoting George to Merc for 2020. These youngsters today don't seem to be fazed by anything and his performances this season have certainly gained him a new fanbase. Reminds me of Alonso in 2001. He'll have so much to learn from Lewis before Hamilton calls it a...

DRS - should there be a limit?

I remember some years ago there was a thread debating DRS and its advantages and disadvantages, and I'm sure someone mentioned that there should be a limit to how many times drivers can use DRS in the race. I'd rather it was gone, but if it's here to stay then I think a slight tweak is needed. Perso...

I think what you are referring to there is a Danny Ric style dive-bomb which again people on here have been very critical of in the past because it's very much a 'get out of the way or we crash' style of overtake where the racing etiquette is not quite right with it and there is an air of desperati...

No. Because that whole move is just motor racing - from karts to F1 it's no different. If you leave a gap on the inside big enough another to car to fit into - you run a risk. They will take it and you WILL be run wide on the exit if you stay there. It's that simple. Accept that and either back out...

If you think his win has been kept because it suits a narrative then I'll refer you to Max's post-race penalty at the 2017 US GP.
