Re: The Teams Previewed and Ranked Part 1:

Seems a bit odd that Vettel (the defending two time world champion) and Webber (the almost world champion) have the same drivers score as Raikkonen (a returning champion after a two year hiatus) and Grojean (a relative rooking with some F1 experience). Also, while Mclaren have the lowest score of 7...

I just read another thread about the amount he's charging Melbourne to host the race (from $1.7m in 1996 to over $50m in 2012) and can't help but think he's severely damaging the reputation of F1 and giving fans more cause for argument that he's ruining the sport simply to buy his daughters a 14th ...

Best designs:

Hulkenburg
Perez
Senna (obviously)
Button

The rest are just a mess.

(I wish Schumi ditched his all-red helmet - still reminds me of his days at Ferrari - and gave us his Suzuka '98 chrome beast  )

Re: which race would you like to be the first race of the se

Australia. No other venue.

It's been the curtain raiser every year since 1996 (apart from 2006 and 2010 - epic fail in Bahrain) and to hold it ANYWHERE else would be a travesty.

F1 is slowly losing its grip on 'tradition'. Please don't take the best season opener from us.

One of my favourites has to be Melbourne 2002 Ralf's airbourne Williams, Kimi with gravel in his seat, and an epic battle between Schumi and Montoya. Cracking start to the season if you ask me! To sum up, I like Melbourne I was going to say, no love for 2002?... Twas a heart in mouth moment for the...

Re: One move to defend an overtake Opinions please.

This is slightly off topic, but is about overtaking. Is 'hanging a driver out to dry' on the exit of a corner against the rules? The rules state that it is illegal to push a driver beyond the confines of the track, but that is exactly what is done and no one is ever reprimanded for it. Is 'The Vett...

When I get home from work I deliberately reverse up my driveway so that when I have to leave I imagine myself leaving the pit garage to go for my final run in Q3.

In my Toyota Aygo.

Re: What made Murray Walker so good?

I grew up listening to Murray going mental every couple of weeks so to sum up what made him so good was exactly that - he was MENTAL. I remember Damon overtaking Schumi at Hungary 1997 and laughing my head off for days. I was 13 at the time and nearly broke the VHS I recorded the highlights on rewin...

I am crossing fingers more than ANYTHING to see Schumi on the podium one last time. A win would reduce me to tears, but a top three would also be a massive achievement and shove, quite literally, two fingers up to those doubting him since his comeback.

My sig says it all

Re: How many teams will still have the stepped nose come Bra

This has been discussed so many times. The step cannot be removed (see Scarbsf1's twitter), because the chassis is homologated. A step can be sculpted a tiny bit (like the Merc, Lotus) but it absolutely cannot be removed until next season. Thanks for the info I wasn't aware until now. Looks like Fe...

How many teams will still have the stepped nose come Brazil?

I'm still getting used to the look of them, but can't help but think that as time goes by some teams will abandon the concept and introduce some radically-redesigned (i.e. smoother-looking) noses throughout the season.

Any thoughts on this?

Re: F1 Steering wheel paddles..!

You have to admit, we have a lot to thank Ferrari for in terms of technological development in F1 - from the buttons on the steering wheel (I think this was introduced in 1996) and the 7-speed gearbox to the exhausts exiting the top of the sidepods (1998/99?). I'd love to see F1 return to the days o...
