Re: F1 2019 Game

I wish Codies would overhaul the entire career mode. I don't see the point in 'acclimatisation' laps every single weekend determining your XP score, especially if you're in your fourth or fifth season. Just create your own driver, stick him in a team and see how he does against his team mate and oth...

Re: Always remembered Ayrton

My father visited Imola during a road trip from the UK to Greece last year. There was no track action that day and he described the Tamburello area as eerily quiet. The amount of Senna tributes hung up and knowing that he was standing in pretty much the same spot where Ayrton died almost had him in ...

Re: F1 2019 Game

Have to say I'm looking forward to this. Still a shame they don't include previous seasons (I'd forgo the classic cars for this) where you can really see your career progression alongside the real teams and drivers, like EA's game from the early 00s. Codies have been doing the game since '09 now so ...

Re: Will Ricciardo end up F1's right place wrong time guy?

Let’s not over-exaggerate. Ricciardo is a proven race winner and will have opportunities in F1 for at least the next decade, unless he voluntarily decides to retire early. With that said, his chances at a WDC will effectively be over if Hulkenberg beats him. And if that's the case, then what next f...

Re: Pleasant surprises from Australia

The cars seemed to be able to follow each other ever-so-slightly closer compared to previous races. Melbourne's notorious for not producing good racing so we might get some crackers at other circuits this season. Seems Bottas has raised his game, but not getting my hopes up after one race. Ferrari b...

Yep, we can agree to disagree. Why does it have a social obligation to politics? And why only F1? Do you see that in any other shows that gain TV exposure? Do they do a minute's silence on every program televised? Are you outraged that they didn't hold a minute's silence in Britain's got Talent? Do...

Re: 2019 Australian Grand Prix Race Thread

My observation of the race weekend is Robert Kubica has no business driving a Formula 1 car. There are plenty of young drivers that deserve a chance. This! Ocon in by mid-season, if not sooner. For Monaco. That's at least what I think. If I were Ocon I'd steer clear of that car with all of my might...

Re: Honda podium in 1st Redbull race so were McLaren the pro

One thing I will say is that I believe that Honda will eventually surpass Ferrari and Mercedes in terms of engine performance. This is a lot like the 80s Turbo era to me. Now that they've got things sorted, I expect Honda to reach the top in terms of performance. Red Bull were fastest through the t...

Hard to tell. Honda are now in their fifth year so would Red Bull have been as competitive in 2015/16 as we saw yesterday? I doubt it. My guess is Red Bull has joined Honda at the right time. That said, I still believe McLaren would be in the midfield yesterday if they were still with them. Their c...

2008 and 2009 there was nearly nothing between the entire field. Every team except Williams had either a win or a pole in those 2 seasons. Adding the 3 teams in 2010 was a disaster. Underwhelming. Looks like something you'd see on an F3 car.

EDIT: If they got rid of that silly black (they had it on the Martini livery as well) and replaced it with the same light blue/white scheme, it would look massively improved.

I voted points deductions. It's the only way to not ruin a race weekend for the fans. Damon Hill 1993.

First full season in arguably the best car ever made, granted, but given his relative inexperience compared to Prost and Senna he stood his own and won 3 in a row.

It could easily have gone horribly wrong.
