Re: 2017 Belgian Grand Prix Race Thread

Wasnt Vettel just 2-3 seconds behind Hamilton over 31 laps into the race when the SC got deployed, at a track where Mercedes was expected to be faster anyways? Ham was just in cruise control, just look at the pace of the cars after the SC, you got two drivers with 6 WDC's between them so clearly th...

Re: 2017 Belgian Grand Prix Race Thread

Nothing spectacular, but a good race non the less. Hamilton defended wisely the start and SC restart by moving to the inside way earlier before the turn, just to cancel the slipstream Vettel was getting. Ferrari, very good race pace, just lacking a bit of top speed on the strait... but overall, pro...

Bahrain 2014... remember that race where Rosberg had the faster compound but failed to win the race after the SC restart. HAM is AMAZING and is at his best when he has to engage in dog fight to win the race(Indy 2007 was cool too). Too many wins like today he has now. Crazy Stuff!! Ferrari was prob...

Re: 2017 Belgian Grand Prix Race Thread

Crazy Stuff!! Ferrari was probably the faster car today to stay that close for ALL the race. Completely disagree. Without the SC Vettel would not even have had a prayer. Not even once(I watched the race glued on the live timing app) was VET's gap to HAM more than 2 seconds. That's crazy stuff and y...

Re: So Alonso posts the fastest lap time, last lap by .3?

It was his decision. Alonso was not only stripped from Pole but he was given a 5 places grid penalty for a reason. Had he done nothing wrong, he would have kept 2°. The smart thing to do would have been to carry on and complain at the end of qualifying, but he decided he knew better. Don't believe ...

Re: So Alonso posts the fastest lap time, last lap by .3?

So in your opinion Mclaren lost their constructors points because.... I explained it above. We were talking about Alonso's 5 places grid Penalty after a fellow forumer was wondering why Alonso was penalised but not Hamilton. There were in total 2 penalties(for the team and Alonso) . So the team was...

He has been involved in too many stuff but you always imply he is innocent. I am not sure what you trying to say. A block is a block and it doesn't matter if you are doing it with a clock in your hand. And(again) you are trying to rewrite history that I doubt now you have watched when it happened. ...

Re: So Alonso posts the fastest lap time, last lap by .3?

No it is not the same. HAM was not deliberately slowing down to save his tyres and he was in no way destroying ROS pace. HAM in Hungary this year managed to get within 1,5 second from BOT with no tyre advantage(unlike ROS) and the cars this year are just impossible to follow. It would have been eas...

So, he has another year. I like the guy but really don't like the thought of another year of Ferrari preventing their drivers from racing. We don't need that at the front. If Mercedes manage to get a WDC this year (with either driver) then they will have really achieved something. Hungary was painf...

^ Intriguing. I was always under the impression that Alonso's delay exiting the pit box was his decision and that he simply calculated how much time he could leave it for him to do a 'flying' warm-up lap to hit the start / finish ahead of the end of the session. You mean like in Hungary 2014, when Rosberg was complaining that Hamilton was holding him up? Both in a Mercedes? I'm rather surprised anyone can rate Sainz in the top 10 really. He's been responsible for more drivers retiring than any other driver this year. Both of his incidents looked extremely silly and worse than his team mates recent 2. I also think there was evidence that they were worse as he himself h...

Unfortunately it seems Max has looked at Senna and MS and decided to follow them in stamping his authority on the track now while he's in a position to do so. Drivers don't build anything . They can give feedback on what's been brought to track sure but we know Alonso is good at that from comments by engineers he's worked with. What drivers need is their engineers to be the ones to come up with something the others don't have. He had that at Renault with...

When we talk about Ferrari, you are missing so MUCH if you are not living in Italy or you don't speak Italian. Ing. Ing. Forghieri(not Pullrod) believed Alonso was detrimental to Ferrari progress as a car.
