Re: [MERGED] McLaren's wearing no clothes? / issues sans Hon

McLaren(the winning and positive team) died the moment Hamilton went to Mercedes. He took away from Woking the winning mentality, the positivity, the passion and the FANS. Nobody is 150% committed in this NEW McLaren project and the team is chock-full of mercenaries, impostors and lazy engineers/pe...

Re: Alonso and Vettel

Vettel now has 11 wins for Ferrari, which equals Alonso's tally. Vettel has achieved this in 66 races. Alonso drove 96 races for Ferrari. In Alonso's defense, the 2018 Ferrari is a much better car than anything Ferrari gave him. This is my post of March 03, 2015 You asked before for elements to sup...

Why offer him a contract extension and why's James Allison claiming he tried to change his mind? The entire press pack chased him around for a year asking if he regretted leaving and this myth of a firing still persists. It's bizarre. Re: Alonso and Vettel

The bigwigs at Ferrari had enough of him. He was not wanted anymore and if it was not Vettel, it would have been Hamilton(Marchionne loves Lewis). So in my book he was "fired". Alonso and Briatore are so bitter and wish ill to Ferrari at any occasion for a reason. Well I believe it was a terminatio...

From SkyF1 note the word "terminated" "Alonso's Ferrari deal was supposed to run until the end of 2016 but with relations between the 33-year-old and the team's new management hierarchy headed by Marco Mattiacci breaking down, Sky F1 understands that the contract was terminated by mutual consent on...

This is what I can't get past and why I don't put as much weight into the stats in these type of sports as others do but it's subjective of course, people value different things but this is along the lines of what was first put to me in a similar conversation. You can literally not need to change a...

Same old same old.. Alonso this Alonso that but he is winning nothing (yet), only teammates wars. I think the biggest fallacy is to confuse teammates performances with "ultimate" performance. Does anyone seriously think if Vettel's engine had blown up on the last lap at Abu Dhabi in 2010 and the last lap at Interlagos in 2012 he would be a worse driver because he only had 2 titles? Lets take a look at Alonso's record - 2003 - 6th in WDC in the 4th best car. 2004 - 4th in WDC in the 3rd best car. 2005 - Champion in the 2nd quickest but more reliable car 2006 - Champion in probably the joint quickest car, hard to tell 2007 - 3rd in the WDC but level on points with 2nd. Re: Who was at fault, Ricciardo or Verstappen? (Baku 2018)

Ricciardo and Verstappen drive like they are playing videogames and are overoptimistic with their moves and overtakes. They are making Bottas look like a Top Top driver and this alone is telling. The RedBull car actually has some serious pace and is held back by its drivers. They are both OVERRATED ...

Re: Hamilton doesn't really rate Ricciardo

He didn’t rate Rosberg either, and we all know how that turned out. Hamilton is probably regarded as the best qualifier ever in F1. Well did you know Rosberg outqualified Ham 12 vs 7 in 2014. (Head to head other years 2015 - Ham 12 - Ros 7 2016 - Ham 12 - Ros 9) And I think most would rate Ricciard...

I have never rated Ricciardo myself and he became the media #1 guy just because Alonso(the previous media #1 darling) was not fighting at the front anymore. I still maintain to this day that Sainz Jr. would give Verstappen a much harder time pacewise(and at the starts) than Ricciardo. It his unbelie...

Someone needs to explain to me why in all these contacts with top cars Verstappen is often involved.

Hamilton has had a very long career same as Alonso and I dont remember them driving this way and doing damage at the start when they were nobody.

Max is already in... and it is not his fault. He should have never been allowed to drive an F1 car at 17 years old. He can do whatever he wants and all you will hear is "he is a kid", "he will learn". Of course he feels omnipotent being the youngest and geniusest(his opinion) of all the drivers. F1/...

Re: Button on Hamilton and Alonso

The evidence to suggest Alonso is not an A1 qualifier is..... Alonso was beaten 16-15 by Jarno Trulli over one lap in 2003-2004 and 9-8 by Hamilton in 2007. If we exclude Hungary 2007, then he was matched by a very well prepared rookie which suggests that he's very good but not great in qualifying....
