Re: The idiocy of track limit rules

Have I missed something I thought they were monitoring the exit of turn 4? I agree drivers moaning about having to stay on circuit is ridiculous. If gravel was down there they wouldn't be in it every other lap. If they're worried they won't keep it on track then go slower. I don't think they are in...

A definition of "legacy" may be subjective. If you go by the numbers, this gent does not have a legacy. https://hips.hearstapps.com/hmg-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/images/moss-png-1586700072.png https://e0.365dm.com/20/04/768x432/skysports-lewis-hamilton-stirling_4967736.jpg?20200412150635

Re: Is Hamilton ruining Max’s legacy?

4 pages is and I still believe a drivers legacy is based on what they do against who they're up against. As mentioned before, Moss's legacy is right up there without a WDC because those in the know saw him as s truly great driver that was beaten by one or two of the greatest ever drivers. Not to men...

Traffic jams on out laps, it’s going to be carnage next weekend.
That depends. With significantly fewer corners, they may not need to go as slow as there will be a lot less wear on the tyres. It may also be easier to shuffle around on out laps when there are few tight corners.

The idiocy of track limit rules

I continue to be massively disappointed that drivers are putting pressure on the stewards to allow them to drive outside of the track's while lines without receiving a penalty. What gives them the right to say where they can run wide? They say, as they have about T4 in Bahrain, that there is no time...

Re: F2 & F3

I have to say, that was a very mature drive from Schumacher. He really seems to have grown in terms of racecraft. A blinding start with some brave moves before having a pop at the podium towards the end but not doing anything that removed his front wing and ruining his race. Can't want for tomorrow'...

Re: So, do people want "novelty" races now ?

I wouldn't call it a novelty race, it was a wet race, wet races are always good but they're not either novelty races or gimmicks. I'm not sure anyone is really saying it was a novelty race in Turkey. The question is, do we want novelty races with things like artificial wet races. Well that would be...

Re: Is Hamilton ruining Max’s legacy?

Sterling Moss' legacy was simply massive because time and time again, he drove brilliantly. Not winning a WDC didn't hold his reputation back. Max's problem at the moment is himself. He gets rave reviews because he makes gutsy passes and can clearly drive very fast, but regardless of winning races, ...

Re: 2020 Turkish Grand Prix Race Thread

I mean being in a team that has won 80% of races over a 7 (and very likely to be 8 ) year period is pretty lucky. Sublime as Hamilton is, and earned his defacto #1 status - no driver has ever been in that position for that duration before - even Schumacher. That is surely a pretty fortunate positio...

I have spent a number of years wondering if Trump should seek medical advice about his mental state, but since this election, I am more convinced than ever that he really really should.

If someone in normal life showed his level of delusion, they would probably be sectioned for their own safety.

Re: So, do people want "novelty" races now ?

Without high downforce and grip F1 isn't really F1. It should be fairly close to the optimum engineering solution for going fast around a circuit as it is meant to be the fastest racing formula. If you want low grip and slower cars there are plenty of other series to go for. Changes to keep things ...

I wouldn't want races like that, but what I'd like is a dramatic reduction in downforce and tyre grip. When it's dry, the drivers hardly ever have to correct oversteer, run wide etc. They are like trains on a track. This can't be a good thing.
