Re: 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix Race Thread
Well, if yesterday's F2 race was anything to go by, this circuit could produce some excellent racing. Perhaps it will give the organisers thoughts about running on this circuit each year. Any idea whether my DRS-allergy is going to knock me out or not? (I don't mean the F2 race was one, you clearly...

Dan Ticktum interviewed and was showing all the usual signs of selfishness. No big thanks to the team and saying that he is going to another F2 team next year, a good one. Re: How will Russell perform against Bottas?
I know he was good prior to F1, but so was his race. My point, which I admit I didn't really make very clear, is that I keep reading about him being a Saturday driver. I just don't get that when in F1, we've only seen him is very poor cars. IMO, the 'Mr. Saturday' thing is simply because that's the...

Re: How will Russell perform against Bottas?
So, tell me, did Russell have a 1 lap reputation prior to F1? Five poles out of twelve in F2 - Albon had three! Four out of eight in GP3 Was looking at Formula 3 European Championship from 2015/16 but it looks like cars might be important there. Stroll dominated in 2016 and Leclerc was only fourth ...

Re: 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread
I think Hamilton is overrated as a qualifier..What impresses me most is his race pace Absolute nonsense. Hamilton outqualified Alonso as a rookie and he has only ever been beaten by Trulli on Saturday across his entire career. Only man to get pole position in 2011 that wasn't driving an RB7. Has th...

Let's also take into account that George simply doesn't fit in the cockpit and is wearing shoes a size too small.

Re: 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread
Brilliant from George. The fact it's a short lap meant that a gap of a couple of tenths would translate to quite a big gap on a normal lap, but this quali gap means that even if it was tripled, it would be very respectable. Great also from Leclerc and Kvyat.

Re: F2 & F3
Just caught up with today's race. Brilliant entertainment but shocking defensive driving from Mazapin. Double movements and basically blocking, not defending.
Very good again from Schumacher. After issues in quali, that was as good as he could have done, I think.

Re: Grosjean's Horrific Crash (Bahrain 2020) [Merged]
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRDWL39Hkt0 This is one reason why I have always liked Grosjean. Out of the car (even if not instantly calm on the radio), he always comes across as so happy, even when talking about negative things. Not that he intends to look like this all the time, but he does so ...

Re: How will Russell perform against Bottas?
I just don't get this Slow Sunday reputation Russell has with a lot of people. It gets mentioned on this forum quite a bit. For me, he drives the wheels off the car in qualifying but unsurprisingly, doing lap after lap like that in what is clearly a very poor car, is impossible. It's hardly surprisi...

Re: BRREAKING NEWS. LEWIS HAMILTON OUT OF THE SAKHIR GP THIS WEEKEND.
Although great for Russell, it's a real shame it's not at a more traditional circuit, rather than one that seems like it will be a bit of a crazy layout.

Great t-shirt today, Lewis. What was it? I can't remember exactly, but it not only mentioned racism but also that immigration is a positive thing and also some other important issues. Not sure about on-screen at the circuit, but there were no replays of the crash on TV until well after Romain was out and had been reported as being fundamentally fine.BMWSauber84 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 6:39 pmDaniel Ricciardo sounded very angry about the amount of replays shown of the crash.

Re: 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix Race Thread
You'd wonder what this crash might mean for the future of the Monaco GP, and the introduction of many street circuits of recent years. I think the biggest thing to come from it could well be no more barriers like the ones that Romain went through today. Halo or not, for a car to split through a bar...

Unless I am mistaken, the medics in the medical car have open-faced helmets. Had Romain not been able to get himself out, they would have been completely unable to assist until the fire was fully out. Now, I'm not saying the medics should simply walk straight into a raging fire, but I would think fu...

Re: 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix Race Thread
After watching it again I have to see the majority of marshalls deserve absolutely no credit what so ever. Most just stood and watched. There is no way the doctor and driver of the medical car should beat the marshalls to aid a driver. I think you need way more info before making such a sweeping st...

Re: 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix Race Thread
Year on year they improve safety in F1 and year on year we all read comments on forums and other places from certain fans, moaning that the sport is safe enough. This was especially so regarding the halo. Whilst I have no proof, I don't think it's a big claim to say that if the car was from around 5...

Re: The idiocy of track limit rules
Have gravel EVERYWHERE. But also have the option to cover them with metal sheets for when it's cars, not bikes, at the venue. That way you get a slippery surface, which you can incline to increase momentum loss, for cars, without sacrificing the gravel for bikes. Nice thought, but I'm not sure how ...

Am sure RB are still hopeful Albon will get his act together & wait till the last race to decide! Red Bull are desperate not to put Perez in the car with Verstappen. While I'm confident he'll prevail, it'll be the sternest challenge he'll have faced for two seasons since Ricciardo departed. It may ...
